That’s the worst song I’ve ever heard. Seriously.
They repeat the same stanza three times. The lyrics are something an eleven-year-old girl would write about her breakup with the boy she’d been dating for a week. Who had a car. Ick.
They use three chord changes.
Third time’s clearly teh suck in this instance.
The monotone is jarring. The effect is like that of a high-school garage band. That sucks. Really, really sucks.
Green Day is mortally offended that this was the bastard child they sired with these women and “Kerplunk!”
Pop Goes The Weasel is a masterpiece of composition compared to this abomination.
If this is musical irony, say for instance in the intentional repetition of Soul Coughing, it fails on every single level.
Also, if they’re so ashamed of the fat girl that the only extended shot they allow her is in silhouette then they may as well replace her. It’s not as if the percussion is that complicated.
Look, I get the fact that you’re on the wrong side of 50 and that you feel you need to do stuff to keep, y’know, like, relevant with the L&TC set, but for the love of jeebus man, spare yourself some dignity.
And spare us videos of the gawdawful crap the kidz are listening to these days.

Too much cult of personality on both sides these days.
How did you not think Obama was going to fuck you even worse than Clinton?
I know he was the only option but we still didn’t need to invest him with messiahship.
If people had been a little more realistic in their assessment of his holiness he might actually have been forced to listen to us.
Instead, this. And it only gets worse from here.
As bad as that song. Multiplied by eleventy billion.
Good luck, y’all. I left for Australia and I’m never coming back.
I loved America but America is gone now. What remains to be seen is what takes its place. I hope it works out for you.
Somehow I doubt it will.
Well somebody certainly got up on the wrong side of the bed today.
I thought I liked the Vivian Girls fuzz guitar combined with girl-group vocals.
Thanks for setting me straight.
Nader 2012!
pplikid,
Couldn’t agree more.
“When I’m gone” by Phil Ochs actually says something. His version isn’t on teh youtube but Ani Difranco does a decent version.
PS
What is up with commas converting to backslashs (at least in preview)
Being on the bottom side of the globe, Aussies don’t actually get up on one side of the bed or the other. It’s either the top or the bottom…..

I didn’t buy into any cult of personality. Obama or McCain was the question. I would vote the same way today. I didn’t invest Obama with messiahship. He was and is a centrist and a politician and a better choice than McCain.
Even if McCain and Palin were running the country, I would not have the luxury of escape. I’m getting old and I’m tired of fighting but since I want my daughter to have a better future, I will fight on.
Even if TBogg keeps posting that Kid Rock graphic and songs that aren’t completely to my liking, I will stay in America and fight on.

I read that “little ditty.” Bad wannabe Marxist claptrap. It’s always funny how you lot have all the answers if we’d only listen to your wisdom.
Jesus fucking christ, pplikid. I’m sure you’re a treat at parties. “Turn that shit off, man; it only has three chord changes in the whole song! Put on some Primus! America sucks!” What a fucking tool you are. God help anyone who has to put up with your sullen, pretentious ass on a daily basis and god help fucking Australia.
I just saw the Vivian Girls last month and they were WAY better that the fucking Police on their fucking Synchronicity tour in 1983. So fuck you and your shitty Bouncing Souls ass. Fuckwad.
Yikes stripes. I never saw such a mean screed on a hump the juke thread. Poor soul. Get a warm towel pplikid and put it to your forehead and have a lay down. You’ll feel better soon. Here’s my ten to help your mood…

Wow, pplikid. When the rest of us don’t like whatever noise Tbogg and the others do, we have enough manners to just skip to something else and let everyone enjoy themselves. Too bad you don’t have something you could do instead of trashing the musical tastes of someone whose place you are visiting. It’s not like you were chained to a chair and forced to listen to the whole video.
