So I’m, like, sitting around reading about how the basically leaderless Democrats are flailing around like Jonah Goldberg on a NordicTrack when I suddenly remember that, hey!, it’s Wednesday night and I’m siupposed to be random shuffling.
Sorry. Holiday related activities have disrupted my natural flow. Such as it is.
Anyway…

Also. Also. Too. Thanks very very much to “Joe Jackson” for the Deadwood DVD collection. Having never seen an episode, I hear it is quite good and that I might learn some new and exciting words to use in my daily dealings with mankind.
You may all now go into comments and tell me why it sucks and I should be watching Battlestar Galapagos or something.

Watching Deadwood isn’t a vile fucking task by any means, but the thing to throw on when you’re up to your eyeballs in vile and need a break. It’s addictive and should be mandatory for thinking adults. (Only the stupid people plug their unprecious ears when Deadwood’s on.)
I call it a Shakespearean Western peppered liberally with deliciously rendered profanity. It’s one of the best shows ever produced, along with The Wire (which is also filled with swear words and a must see if you haven’t already).
Oh, and the soundtrack is worth having, too.
from the iPhone tonight, the pod is busy re-synching after an upgrade to the ‘ol storage space…

I love Nelly McKay. Plus, she’s got quite a few dog songs…
I liked Deadwood a lot and would recommend it to anyone who can remember not to use their new words at school and/or work.
Don’t watch Milch’s “John from Cincinatti” though. There are a lot of the same types of characters in it as in Deadwood, but they are way, way overdone.
