This post is only half-right, the part about the protestors not exactly sure what they are protesting about, or on behalf of. Some of them are racist morons but others are just seething with righteous anger over what has been done to them, and will be done to them, by corporate-controlled government. Tea partys are the only vehicle they see as being offered to them to register their protest and dissent. Unfortunately, neither the Democractic party or the progressive movement has organized a counter-vehicle to harness their rage and direct at their real enemies.

I think that’s true for many. And it’s not only those we see on television going out in the streets. Many Americans see what the political and economic leaders in this country are doing (many either have been laid off or have a family member who has been laid off, for example) and can relate to these protesters. There are a lot of Americans who need real leadership and feel like the Democratic Party is failing them.

IMO there are several levels of teabaggers. The elderly who are frightened, frail, and have nothing to do all day but watch the “bad” news on TV, the poorly informed, the angry but don’t know where to put their anger and what in SF used to be called the “Rent a Mob” who will join any demonstration for grins. The last are hot heads with guns and are looking for a fight.

To clarify:

I have been past more than one Teabagger event. One in July, and One in August, that I caught on film, but have witnessed others.

As far as I know, none of them had guns, like other places that they DID, like the famous Phoenix incident. Simultaneously, I’m glad they did not show their testicles.

I’m a conservative, but I come here because I think that there are a lot of really good things written here. I don’t close my mind off when I read things I do not agree with, I look at it as an opportunity to view things differently. I don’t feel hatred towards the people who have different opinions than mine, however, this post makes it pretty clear that if you hold conservative views or feel passionate enough about something that you make the effort to try to have your voice be heard, that certain people on the left simply feel disgust and contempt towards you. You do not see us as fellow human beings for some reason. Time and time again I see more compassion shown towards terrorists at Gitmo than fellow American citizens. It makes no sense.

If I’ve learned anything this past year, it’s that we are all mostly in this together. There is power in numbers and alienating half the population with this type of post hurts everyone in the long run. This fighting between political parties only serves to take the focus off of the real issues that we need to be united on. Imagine what could be accomplished if we worked together. The people in charge of this country, love the fact that we are pitted against each other because when we’re exchanging verbal blows at each other, the focus goes off of them–where it SHOULD be at all times.

His crime began in Mosul,Iraq and extended to Walter Reed….his request for anti-bacteria curtains for they’re severely wounded was against protacal.?..he was concerned because of the black mold in the buildings, the overcrowded conditions and the fight to prevent Staph etc. He was West Point, 3 generations of West Point,Lt. A good man, the best and the brightest and kind.
