The Kenyan usurper is going shove something down America’s throat on teevee tonight so the New York Times asked some smart people to give advice on what he should do and say to save what is left of a beautiful social experiment but is now just a barren wasteland filled with sorrow and shame and half-empty strip malls.
Oh, besides the smart people the Times also asked Lisa Schiffren who is famous for writing Dan Quayle’s Murphy Brown speech, and Jonah Goldberg who is famous for farting.
The end.

What, they didn’t ask Bill Kristol? He’s knows a thing or two about a thing or two. Plus, none of HIS bright ideas for America – the Iraq invasion, Sarah Palin as VP candidate, etc. – never had unintended consequences for everyone but him.
Don’t fuck around with news, stick with conjecture and opinions!
Good God. And every invitee on the weekend ‘News Shows’ will be Republicans and they will be there to tell us why the Kenyan Islamo-fascist, commie, terrorist and very brown person is ruining this country…which of course belongs to them and the teabaggers…oh yeah, and the banks and the corporations and soon to be the World. Thank you SCOTUS.
Odds are Obama will announce later tonight that he’s hiring Bill as a political advisor — change of pace, bipartisanship and all that… Heck, maybe he’ll be replacing Rahm Emanuel in which case we’d be delighted with the improved quality of the administration’s strategery.
[cue obama bots: "oh, that's so not fair, rahm is nothing like kristol... just give him some more time, and you'll see, it'll all make sense and you'll be sorry"]
Shorter Shchiffren:
The Muslim needs to list and then detail all the ways in which he has destroyed American in one year. Cuz that will good for him.
Short Pantload:
Only people that are sick in the head want to hear the truth. Boring is good. Trust me, I have absolutely nothing of interest to say and they send me big checks every week.
Ahhh, yes. But the important question is which impertinent Republican asshat is going to yell something out tonight.
I believe it it chosen by levels of seniority and insanity. Also, who needs the most fundraising help.
“The Kenyan usurper”….
If there is one guy who can nail Jello to a wall, it’s “That one”.
This is just the prelude to the avalanche of column space and talk show appearances by every Republican has-been from Newt Gingrich to John McCain to Karl Rove. It’s too bad that flies can’t watch TV or read op-eds: they’d have a shit-feast for days.
was Little Luke getting a rug adjustment?
Man, all week long, all my un- and underemployed friends bemoaned the growing deficit. Jobs, jobs, jobs – nah, that’s not what anyone (according to the punditocracy) has the least bit of concern about.
And hey, despite the lack of employment opportunities- what with all the healthcare coverage and such, all the really kool kids have been going on and on and on about the urgent need for reforming entitlements like it was the latest i-phone app.
My guess is that the two parties will suddenly discover bipartisanship when it comes to screwing the Boomers out of the Social Security benefits they’ve paid for all of their working lives. There will also be bipartisan agreement that we cannot cut so much as one dollar out of the $515Bn (Not counting the inevitable supplementals) defense budget. By presenting a somewhat united front on these two important fuckovers the R’s and the D’s will hope that neither party will lose voters. Now that the Supremes have decreed that politicians can be legally, openly, bought and paid for we, the fuckees in all of these deals, may just decide to vote for the least-insane third party. I changed my voter registration from Democratic to Independent in anticipation.
Sure is.
Just a light (suggested) edit for your first graf: “…the New York Times asked some smart people [AND Lisa Schiffren/Jonah Goldberg)…” It is still a mystery to me as to how the Pantload continues to earn apparently good money for publishing his adolescent fantasies.
Sorry, I just can’t get too upset today! Here in Oregon we “stoopid libruls” are just too happy about our own special election last night. Cause we WON. By a large margin and even in some fairly red counties. Granted it was just about making rich people and corporations pay a little more in taxes, but it still makes me happy.
Especially after reading all the fundie impotent outrage in the comments section of The Oregonian‘s website. My favorite are the usual nazi/oppression/it’s not fair complaints—because after all, how dare a measure supported by the majority of residents in a legal election become law??
I’ll tell ya how, bucko: The lefties created a front group 6 months ago claiming to speak for businesses in favor of taxing themselves more – sh’yeah, like THAT would ever happen!

This is actually a very liberal panel, since all journalists are lefties and Quayle and Nixon would currently both be on the left of the democRAT party.
/poo-eating Red State-loving wingnut
cue the bitter Rethug trolls. Let’s see, when you guys lie (and you do it pretty much all the time) and steal elections with the results going your way—it’s what America wants and we clearly hate our country. When Democrats win fair and square, it’s all a big conspiracy. Oh well, at least you’re not blaming ACORN or the evil unions for once….though I’m sure you’re convinced they’re behind it…
I bet you reside in the one red district of Oregon—the biggest geographically but the smallest in income and population. You can leave any time. You’ll also starve without Multnomah County tax $$$
I’m curious, MaryCh … you’re suggesting that there are no business owners who, y’know, actually think that the public interest might ever, even to the slightest degree, outweigh their own personal interest? That all business people, without exception, are selfish, moneygrubbing misers? Interesting … assuming you’re the usual Repulsican defender of capitalism as the most moral economic system.
