Okay. So  there’s this basset puppy that we fell in love with over teh intertubes but he’s in Pennsylvania, okay? And then there are these other puppies who are only about two hours away and they are absolutely gorgeous, but we kept going back to Pennsylvania puppy and, as the saying goes: the heart wants what the heart wants. Of course the person who said that was Woody Allen when he left Mia Farrow for her adopted daughter, so ew, never mind that; we just wanted the damn puppy. So very early this morning mrs tbogg boarded a plane bound for Dulles and then connecting to State College, PA, home of Penn State University and the Fighting Bérubé’s (Professor Dr. Bérubé informs me there are restaurants in State College, so – better than Branson!).

The plan was to get into State College, pick up the lil nipper, and haul butt back to San Diego arriving Saturday evening to a crowd of people holding up signs saying “Welcome (name to be revealed later)!”. But you know what happened?

Snowpocalypse 2010: The Blizzarding.

The mid-Atlantic region will be punished by an all-out snowstorm beginning Friday afternoon. At least a foot of snow will fall from northern Virginia to southern New Jersey disrupting all forms of transportation. Be prepared for major travel delays, and airports such as Dulles and Baltimore-Washington International may have to shut down operations for a time. The storm will taper off through the mid-Atlantic Saturday afternoon.

That’s what happened. And now mrs tbogg has been informed that all flights have been canceled and she will be stuck in State College, PA until MONDAY!, which is, like, next week.

That means there won’t be any Very Special Super Bowl Sunday Basset Blogging As An Alternative To Pam Tebow Telling Us She Didn’t Kill Baby Jesus Who May Go In The Fourth Round To Jacksonville, Probably. This also means that mrs tbogg will be living on mini-bar food, I’ll be living on edamame and Popsicles, and Fenway is not coming out until his mom gets home. With a puppy. For him to eat.

The end.

Except for the relevant picture.

Haz a blizzard sad

Also. Also.

I have a picture of the puppy but I’m not going to share until he has been acquired and all four paws are on the ground in San Diego because nothing is a sure thing as this weekend seems to be making clear.
