Quite frankly, I’m too tired to do much more than a brief update on Wembley and then get back to regular talking shit about dumbasses blogging tomorrow. First off, Wembley and Fenway are getting along much better than I expected considering Fenway’s hummingbird on Red Bull excitability. Wembley spent the day at work with me today, running about the office with the employees, barking, and practicing what I guess will eventually be a howl but sounds more like the bark of a seal. Hopefully I can some video later this week as tail chasing seems to be a favorite of his. No promises.
And just to give some scale as to Wembley’s size, please see the picture above. I could have cropped his junk out, but I know how much you guys love that stuff.
And now….sleep.
Yeah. I don’t think we assembled him correctly either….

there may be some shrinkage involved due to cold weather and cabin pressure
wow, seeing that paw next to his nose lets you see how huge it really is!
And again I say, Ahhhhhh!
Citi Field is adorable!
That second picture is to die for. What a cutie!
I wouldn’t be too worried about Wembley’s glower. Some Bassets just have faces that make them look angry all the time. Our late beloved Maui was like that, but it was totally deceiving; he was a Satchmo-like saintly Basset. Molokai, on the other hand, is a bringer of chaos and destruction….
It seems that the boneless breed has inflatable paws. If he grows into those he’ll be able to give rides!
Looks like his ears might be longer than Fenways. Sorry, I don’t think Wembley fits him. Also too, everytime I see the word Wembley I think of the Wombles of Wimbledon(kids cartoon) which has absolutely nothing to do with Wembley. You should have called him Pele or Maradona.
I see Mrs. TBogg hasn’t warmed up yet. Probably take a week.
The first shot is too comical. Fenway looks like he’s head over heels in love and Wembley appears quite droll and blase. This might be the relationship equivalent of Sylvester the Cat and his nephew, wherein the nephew has the upper paw.
Second shot is to. die. for. The smooshed face, gangly paws, ears askew, and soft baby eyelids. It would be difficult to resist picking him up every five seconds.
I was literally hyperventilating over the second picture, and that may be one of the best pictures of Fenway ever.
Congrats to all the Boggs! And long live
TENBB!The wait was clearly worth it.
He’s gonna shake up Casa Bogg in a good way.
Enjoy, T and Mrs. T.
Based on the second shot, Wembley is clearly an Escher Basset.
I do have to extend some sympathy to Fenway, though. I mean, he’s gotta be thrown by all the changes in the Boggian Basset roster since his arrival. I’m extremely happy to hear that he seems to be doing well with the new arrival, and here’s to many happy years together for this new Dynamic Duo. (Should I say “dynamic” in reference to bassets? Probably not…)
Awwwwwww! Wembley is such a cutie. It’s great to see that Fenway is taking the little guy under his ear. Again, congrats to the Bogg household. I’m looking forward to seeing Wembley grow into his paws.
Wembley’s the cutest contortionist that I recall ever seeing.
HA! It’s the sleepy pet trick–get big dots on your forehead so your people think you are awake and listening to them while you catch your zzzz’s!
Meanwhile, somewhere there is a suddenly shorter dinosaur wondering who stole his big feet….
“Smells like little brother”
Fenway has been thrust into the role of older/wiser canine sibling, and it looks like he takes it seriously. Let’s hope he’s not just preparing Wembley to be the fall guy in all the pranks.
I like his bright purple collar! Glad that he and Fenway are getting along okay at this point. I look forward to the potential video at week’s end.
Paws like hams!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HOOOOOOOOOOOWOOOOOOOHOOOOOO
That’s one put-together puppeh! And Fenway IZ HUGE!
omg — those paws…
You’re supposed to lay them flat after washing, not just toss them into a bundle like that.
Handsome devil..One QUESTION,,,,,why no Girl Doggies?
Yeah, they both look thrilled with each other. Fenway isn’t falling for the “We loved you so much we got another one” line at all, and Wembley is calculating where he could plop to take up the most space on the bed.
When I saw those paws in Picture 2, all I could think was “objects in mirror are closer than they appear.”
Since we have been totally & completely spoiled with blogs & pics this week, does that mean we’ll be deprived of TNBB? I certainly hope not.
I have some questions that maybe could be addressed:
1) how did MrsTBogg choose Wembley among all the others?
2) like whiterose above, why not a girl? Think of the possibilites of having Fenway’s off-spring!!!!
Oh. Okay.
And how did James Wolcott get to be one of your fans?
Nothing like a little basset junk to warm our hearts here in New England, as we anxiously await what may be a massive 4-8″ megastorm.
That is one cute little houndoggy.
My pet-deprived daughter is in heaven over the photos. Dayamm, those are cute hounds.
“Paws like hams!” Too right!
We come here, as Donny Osmond might croon, for puppy junk…
Fenway & Wembley. Hmmm. I am noticing a definite sports venue-ish theme going on here. Does this mean we may be looking to future TBassets named things like “Madison Square Garden”? Or perhaps something exotic like “Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center”?
I keed, i keed.
I was hoping they’d name the little guy something Penn State related, like Jeffrey(the soccer facility) or Jordan (the basketball arena). The football stadium is called Beaver Stadium, so that doesn’t really work…
Personally, I came for the snark — I STAY for the puppies
whoa. puppy pics, now in 3-D.
OK, I give up.
What paw is sticking out?
anyone else care to admit they’ve come back for a second look, ??? suspected all along that TNBB was a gateway drug
I think that puppy has exceeded the legal cuteness limit. You might want to consider making him wear a hat made out of teabags or something to cut the sweet.
Damn…that’s it exactly!
Would make a great tee shirt. That puppy could wear snowshoes, already which indicates quite the capacity for kibble. Not to mention…Baby will need some new toys.
Fenway is all “WT absolute F have you guys gone and done now? I mean seriously – W.T.F.?”
I would absolutely buy that t-shirt!
Man, those paws. He’s going to be pony-sized.
I’m glad that Mrs. T made it back safely.
My God…it’s full of adorable.
(He seems astoundingly happy already. Y’all must give off some awesome vibes.)
Heh, this is my 2 bazillionth peak at the kid.
Freckles!
Cuteness factor eleven !
Fenway looks like he’s whispering “Wait until they’re asleep — I’ll tell you all the secrets about what makes them nuts. Have you ever been on a roof?” Here’s hoping he takes his Senior Basset status more seriously, and acts like a responsible big brother. Wembley may be an even cuter puppeh than Fenway was, if that’s possible, which I doubt. Ear skritches all around…
@ warrenterrah – Maradona huh? So will we be talking about the “Paw of God Goal” then? :p
Actually – since you’re a soccer household how come he isn’t named after one of the greats from the Sockers? Sooooo many great names to choose from: Branko, Zoltan, Cha Cha, Waad, Juli, Kazimierz, etc.
Having returned for the trillionth time, I decided to make the second pic my wallpaper. The embiggened version.
Just thinking how fierce the PAW would be in 3D.
Cooder & Satchmo: Superb musicians. Beckham: an exception. Fenway & Wembley: Sports venues yet to sell their own names. Predicted next pair: National Monuments. Perhaps Pipestone or Colorado.
Knee bone’s connected to the leg bone. Leg bone connected to the foot … OMG that paw is HUGE.
Definitely not put together right.
First – the cute. Too much. Enough to match the size of those paws.
Second, TBogg, you certainly have a way with a phrase. May I steal borrow that “hummingbird on Red Bull” description? I’m sure it will come in handy; promise to give you credit.
So nice of you both to keep us all updated with Fenway and Wembley pix.
When you get a moment, do tell us how you came up with the name.
Glad to see everyone home safe.
