Sorry. No video tonight. What I have needs the serious kind of editing that only Verna Fields could provide and she’s not available.
But we do have old-timey “photographs” taken with a “picture box”, so just keep your whining to yourself, okay? Fenway is doing very well but he is still on medication until Wednesday next week and then we’ll see if whatever he had is completely gone. Wembley, on the other hand, is a dynamo of action; all sudden impulse and running and flopping and barking and biting and then…complete collapse. He has taken up residence under my desk (see below) where Satchmo spent a great deal of time and I have to watch that the wheels of my chair don’t roll onto his ears. He also needs a bath weekly because he develops that basset “Frito” smell almost overnight.
As you will see below, the bonding continues apace…
Embiggening is enabled for you Zapruder fans.
Also. Wembley’s bro (470-6) still available. Don’t be all vicarious, you guys.

Wow, what pals.
What we have here is Thursday Night Basset Brothers Blogging.
The middle pic spells forgiveness and acceptance for, *sniff*, the absence of bassets in motion. (Maybe Sunday?)
With flowers no less! Oh my Godz, the whole neighbourhood must have swooned. Definitely worth embiggening.
Last pic where Wembley’s paw delicately claims Fenway’s ear just killz.
Fenway seems to be going all wise Satchmo of a sudden, and little sniglet, Wembles, is the cutest bug ever!
Ummm … the embiggening feature seems to be … broken. It actually ensmallerizes the photos and leads to a whole separate blog post/comment box-thingy.
Click the second smaller picture.
Once you get to the post where the smaller pic is, click on the photo for the embiggening.
Much improvement made with the assembly. He looks like all of his parts can go in the same direction now. Good job.
It must be comforting to have a basset under the desk again. Satchmo would be pleased. Let no good spot for snoozing go to waste!
Do we have a celebrity couple here? FenWem? WemFen? Too Gay?
Dude, you promised us videos. Videos, not just pics. You aren’t keeping to your promises. Wahhhhhhh. Oops, I’m sorry that was my inner John McCain talking.
Fenway looks crazy in that last pic. Crazy, like a dad does when his adolescent son has gone and wrecked your car, gotten a girl pregnant, gotten kicked out of school and spent $1,000 on your credit card, all on the same weekend. And Wembley has that adolescent “I’m your son, whatcha gonna do about it” sneer all down pat.
Wheeee, Puppy! It’s exhausting being a puppy. Breaks for short naps to let the hardware and software catch up with each other again is essential.
The Fabulous FenWem? The Fierce FenWem? The Fierce Fenway with the Fabulous Wembley?
Pic #1: awwww. Wembley looks like a plush toy.
Pic #2: Is Wembley standing underneath Fenway? Ha! Enjoy it while you can small fry…
Pic #3: Two interpretations of Fenway’s gaze. a) “The little guy is mine.” b) “Hey, we’re sleeping here!”
Oh, they’re lovely together. They look so happy.
You must frame the pic with the flowers. Or maybe I will. I love how protective/proud/dignified Fenway looks, and how content/secure Wembley looks.
When we got a new pup to keep our 6-yr-old lab company, those were not the new group dynamics, I’m sorry to say. And still aren’t. The lab spends a lot of time finding hiding places to get away from the pup’s relentless gnawing (on her).
At first I thought he was talking about me, but anyway…..
Those doggies are just damn cute.
Cute, cute, cute!
The boys are beautiful. Thanks for the opportunity.
Aww…Fenway looks like he’s growing into his big brother role. Glad they are getting along.
He’s a pillow! No, he’s an umbrella! No, he’s a pillow! . . .
Too much. And way more fun than shoveling snow.
As depicted in picture #2, Wembley is quite the low-rider at this point. We’ll see what a few months of puppy growth and and ample applications of puppy chow produces. Highly cute pups–always brightens my days to see these two together and doing well.
I’ve had a really good week, and TNBB is still one of the best parts of it. Thanks T.
What a cutie pie! (I’ve been muddled at the Webs since last summer, home robbery took my iBook Stardust from me, I had a loaner that went tits-up around Christmas, then I got a slug of unemployment, we’ve had a lot of financial ups all of a sudden AND I started a new job on Feb. Got a new MacBook at the end of January and am still ‘remembering’ everything I had on Stardust–the loaner was Very Old and going lame in strange ways.)
Anyway, sorry for your loss, fond memories are a good thing AND Fenway has a cute new buddy. I have a soft spot in my heart for basset hounds. Mom used to take me down for a summer break with my grandma in Oklahoma–for several years grandma had a neighbor with a basset that seemed, at the time, gigantic to my little self. I offered to walk the lady’s dog for her and she let me. He was the kindest, most gentle beast with a little (probably 8-10 -years old at the time) and really enjoyed my petting and playing with him. (until I hit 12 or 13, I was in the bottom 20 percentile or something like it for my size/age. Alas, no more.)
After looking at it again, Picture #2 could be entitled, “Fenway and Wembley and the Unbearable Cuteness of Being.”
Pictures 2&3 are too funny. Wembley is standing under Fenway? Great picture. I’m trying to envision how they actually ended up in that pose. Was it Wembley going under or Fenway going over? Who set it up? Picture 3: “Hey it’s rough bonding. We have to get some rest.” It’s just like brothers when they’re young. We’ll pick on each other, drive Mom and Dad nuts, then all of a sudden……Awwwwwww!
Looking at picture two again, I think that Fenway is starting to take on that noble Satchmo air.
ohmygod … too … much … cuteness!!!
need to lie down, now …
What, Thelma Schoonmaker is good enough for Marty Scorsese, but not for you?
Excellent pictographs there, fella.
That basset “Frito” odor also affects beagles. I clean my dog’s feet, ears and coat with some white vinegar on a paper towel and no more odor.
Actually was doing it to soothe her paws, she was gnawing at them.
Oh for crying out loud. You’re going to turn us into diabetics.
good lord, they are cute.
. . .’every picture tells a story don’t it
gah, just gah. jumped right in to my TNBB faves list
omg, what freakin’ adorableness.
fenway has a look like ‘i just got the kid to calm down, don’t you dare rile him up’…
I love how you’ve colour-coordinated Wembley’s tummy with his blankie. CHICK!
Y’All got a puppy! I’m really glad you did. They are obviously best pals already. What a couple of cuties!
Photo #2 made me squeal a little.
Ooooo, I gotta me one of those. God, Wembley is TOO CUTE.
Photo #2 needs to be blown up super big and mounted in a gold frame over your mantle.
Didn’t Ms. Hamshire once have something to do with that Moving Picture thing-y?
Nope, still not assembled right. Pic 1 reveals the Spare Stump you’re supposed to keep IN THE BOX, in a cool, dark place, until needed. HTH.
I’m actually a bit teary-eyed here looking at the two boys cuddling. So cute and so good for the soul!
I tenth the recommendation to frame the middle pic. It’s perfection itself.
I noticed that too, GWPDA. Don’t know what an exclamation of “CHICK!” means exactly, but if it’s of a congratulatory nature, I second it!
Also, note the chime of the leash color with the flowers in pic 2. Profound cuteness plus artartart, yay!
Li’l Innocent
Seriously, we all need to calm down. Seriously, someone is going to get hurt. But Photo #2 did make me squeal a little too. I couldn’t log on fast enough this morning to see the TNBB newest entry. You guys just rock. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me a wonderful start to my day!!!!!
Awwwwwwww! Adorable cuteness. Can’t improve upon above comments – love love love the pics. Wembley under Fenway? Wembley’s paw on Fenway’s ear? Oh my freakin lord….
I can’t imagine why Wembley’s bro is still not taken….surely somebody in the TBogg dog fan club can afford to go get him? Only wish I could. Prollly a good thing I’m 2000 mi away, I can be highly suggestible….
Btw, only ‘puter probs kept me from getting my Bogg dog fix on schedule – never did get logged on last night.
Makin’ my week. Again.
GWPDA was merely trying to spare us the horrors of that Frenchy word for fashionable – like when my matching vinyl white belt and loafers go with my plaid leisure suit. TRAY CHICK!
They are darling! Makes me literally hurt wanting to squeeze and kiss on them..especially that freckled belly!
I’ve been seriously tempted by Wembley’s brother–what a gorgeous color he has–as both of our Bassets are aging. However, we only do rescues.
