Wembley is turning out to be a challenge to photograph because his face is so dark you rarely see his eyes. With the black spots it’s like taking a photo of Rorschach. Anyway, we went for a walk by the pier a couple of days ago, and around the bay this afternoon and he is a total babe magnet.
I’m thinking of telling them that I rescued him from Haiti.

Big paws, big…well, you know.
How’s he taking the hockey loss? Better give him some hugs and scritches.
He needs to pull his socks up. They are bunched around his ankles.
Hockey loss?
One NHL millionaire’s win is another NHL millionaire’s loss. I’d say in NHL-Millionaire-Land it’s a win-win! Go Team!
Make sure you set your camera’s exposure to single or spot, then focus on Wembly’s mug and hold the shutter release half way down and re-frame. Or open it in photoshop, image-drop down to adjustments, then to exposure. Adjust the exposure and gamma only. Darker backgrounds will help some. My blushing apologies if this was all obvious to you.
Big dinosaur feet, so cute…
Not just his socks, his whole torso!
If you embiggen the picture, it’s clear that Wembley is rolling his eyes in the finest baleful-Beckham tradition. This boy’s got talent!
He really could use a good ironing.
Tearing myself away from hockey celebrations to dote on Teh Wemblet. He certainly has Beckham’s eyes.
Love his itty bitty nails and spotty freckles on his little legs.
The Tait’s make some gorgeous dogs. Little Big Paw must be one of the cutest.
He’s just sooooo cuuute. Those legs are some tree trunks.
I’m guessing he was more concerned with getting up early to watch the Carling Cup at the stadium named after him.
A bunch of loose skin stretched over a bunch over knobbly puppy bones. Sweetness.
Happy–his royal darlingness returns for another puppy basset Sunday!
I don’t know how you get anything done with those adorable dogs around. I would find myself watching them all day.
WANT!
Retouched Wembley’s pic using Paint Shop Pro (the poor man’s Photoshop) for you: http://home.comcast.net/~erniejurick/wembley.jpg
You could use the fill light feature in Photoshop as well.
I wanted to let everyone know that Josie, the female Basset I mentioned last week and who was at the Prince William County (VA) Shelter, was adopted last Tuesday. I don’t have any info on her new family, but I’m told she did get a new family, and is not in foster care with the rescue group. Yay Josie!
Catstaff…thank you so much for the update. The good news for bassets is that they generally don’t stay in shelters for very long. Unfortunately that isn’t true for alot of other breeds. I’m so glad Josie found a forever family!
Luckily he’s got those adorable brown…eyebrow thingies, so you can at least tell where the eyes are supposed to be, even if you can’t see them clearly. Gyad, I didn’t think anything could out-cute my boxer dogs, but this leetle basset fellow comes close.
There is only one thing to be done. TBogg must contract out the photography of Wembley to his viewers.
God, that dog is cute. I wish it could just be frozen in time. Who isn’t tempted to munch on those paws.
Awesome! Good job.
You’ll need to overexpose your pictures of Wembley. Try opening up 1 or 2 f stops and see if that reveals more detail in his face.
And that’s not “overexpose” in the manner that Fenway is overexposed, y’know…
I am fascinated by his paws. They are huge and wrinkly and so damn adorable. What a cutie he is!
tell me about it. dancinfool’s version made me go here
The expression on his face just slays me. What a character.
MORE PHOTOS!!!!!! VIDEO!!!!!
Awk~! Forgot all about the new Sunday night puppy blogging! So cuuuuuuute. Can’t outdo the other commenters, but geez, I do so enjoy these Wembly puppy pix. Love his coloring.
Wembley needs to hurry up and become a grownup in bassett years so he can replace the slovenly bassett models now destroying the market:
