Did you see Thiessen on the Daily Show last night? Holy crap, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more assholey performance. You could see Stewart was doing all he could to not punch him in his pasty white face.

Thiessen clearly thought Stewart’s role should have been to introduce him, then let him peddle his poorly-disguised bullshit without interruption. Even the Pantload wasn’t that bad.

It seems Thiessen was also trying to trip Stewart up. It always amazes me how well prepared Stewart is for these interviews.

I think Stewart learned something from the John Yoo interview, and applied it with Thiessen. I don’t think he’s ever topped his interview with Bernie Goldberg, though. Now, that was a textbook example on how to deal with duplicitous asswipes.

Good point on Yoo. And Goldberg was priceless, though the way he got Cramer to roll over and let him scratch his belly was an almost equal pleasure.

Thiessen kept serving ‘em up and Stewart kept knocking ‘em out of the park. Not even barefaced lying saves them anymore.

Thiessen’s whining at the end about how he had been cut off and couldn’t get his message out was classic. God he’s a terrible, terrible human being.

I finally watched the tivo-ed show this evening. Jon Stewart is a national treasure. Sometimes it seems like he is the only one in the entire country willing and able to deal with monsters like Thiessen.
