Someone asked in the comments last week if I bought all of my music as mp3′s online. According to iTunes I have only purchased 140 songs out of the almost 11,000 songs I’m currently showing. Because I prowl the used CD stores, and I’m not afraid to take a chance on something if it looks interesting, let’s just say that I have a shitload of CD’s. It is both a bad and a good habit to have.
Black Betty – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
She’s On Fire – Star & Micey
Birds and the Bees – The Birds and the Bees
3 Boroughs – The X-Ecutioners
The Hand That Feeds – Nine Inch Nails
V. Thirteen – Big Audio Dynamite
I Fought the Law – The Clash
Memphis – Cassandra Wilson
Scared of Girls – Placebo
Exodus – Bob Marley & The Wailers
and more form the shitload: July Jones – The New Pornographers
We could use another band like this right about now

Is there a video for that Neil Young song?
Not to my knowledge. He only played “Come Along and Say You Will” 8 times ever, all between 1/5 and 1/19/73 with the Stray Gators, the band that played on Harvest. It’s possible there’s video around somewhere for one of those shows, but I don’t know where. My guess is the song itself will appear on the next edition of the Archives project.

There is probably video. It’s just in the possession of one Bernard Shakey. ;-) I don’t know when he started filming and taping his shows, but he’s been doing it for a long while. What the quality of it all is, I have no clue. if you ever read anything about him, the tape is going pretty much once he walks into the studio(and he gets pissed if it isn’t). he’s a freak like that.
Yeah, I actually just finished re-reading “Shakey”, the huge semi-official bio written several years ago by Jimmy McDonogh. The author is kind of annoying, but there’s tons of great info. Neil is definitely a madman when it comes to having every second in the studio on tape. It’s one of the things I love about his recording style. It’s all about capturing the moment, whenever it might occur.
I can get you audio of “Come Along and Say You Will” if you need.

Well, if any of you were hoping that Tiger Woods was serious about making a comeback I have sad, sad news. He was spotted at a Nickleback concert over the weekend. Yes, a Nickleback concert. Now, hanging with porn stars and such for your sexual satisfaction may cast doubts about your judgment but attending a Nickleback concert because you are pals with members of the *cough* band pretty much seals the deal on the fact you’re not only a douche, but a tasteless douche as well.
When Jim Rome can take 15 minutes to ridicule you about Nickleback you’re pretty much done.
I’d love a copy of the audio. Just put a period in between each word of my handle(Calvin.Jones. …) at gmail.com … thank you so much!! And just put Neil Young/TBogg in the subject line.
