Nobody could have predicted that Israel’s IDF, who are normally the poster boys for restraint and “looks like someone needs a hug”, would go buck wild on so-called humanitarians with their “food” and Water Purifiers of Destruction.
Meanwhile Israel Chamber of Commerce house organ Commentary goes to DEFCON 3.
This was also unexpected.

And anyone would expect a police state to act differently?
As public-relations disasters go, this isn’t so bad for Israel. Why does anyone think this one will be the time all Israelis see shame and give up their occupation and settlements and other stuff? It’s like thinking that the next bus or cafe bombing will be the one that makes all Palestinians renounce violence and demand negotiations with everything on the table. It doesn’t matter who started it, which atrocity is worse, which atrocity is justified with more emotion, or which policy is friendlier to our goals and values. What matters is that whatever matters to those who think their opinions matter doesn’t matter to those whose mattering does matter, not that it really matters for all the good it would do.
They’re probably stunned. They thought that, after attacking the USS Liberty in 1967, trying to sell nukes to South Africa when it was run by apartheidists, and having a huge network of spies in the US, they could get away with anything.
They thought wrong.
TBogg, you forgot how simple slingshots can make a nuclear power wet its collective panties!
The irony of Israel being Hitleresque seems to escape Israel.
Gaawwd! Not having browsed Commentary nor its website in years and years, I had no idea how low it had sunk until I clicked that only to see:
“Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has a very good summary of points…”
They were just honoring US Memorial Day by re-enacting their 1967 attack on the USS Liberty. Though they failed to murder 34 American sailors this time around.
