Jennifer Rubin who earlier demanded our eternal love and devotion toward Israel:
There is a single question that every individual, group, and nation must answer. To borrow from the most pro-Israel president since Harry Truman: if you are not with Israel, you are against her. And if you do not oppose with every fiber of your being and every instrument at your disposal that which intends the Jewish state harm, you are enabling her destroyers.
…has seven (count’em 7!) posts up already this morning mainly about how everybody in the world who disagrees with her is a Jew hater. So now we all have to take The Rubin Pledge:
For a week the administration has straddled, hemmed and hawed, and left Israel to defend itself. It is shameful, and Congress should make it clear that this is not acceptable and does not represent the concerns of the American people, who aren’t confused about who the good guys and who the bad guys are in this incident and in the Middle East more generally. Each member of Congress as well as candidates on the ballot this year should be forced to take a stand: do they approve of the Obama approach to Israel?
I know this poll isn’t scientific but I don’t think Americans are as into Israel as Jennifer thinks they are:
Jennifer will now spend the rest of the day tracking down the 69 per-centers who hate Israel America Israel so she can declare Jewhad on them just like she has on Helen Thomas.

That poll may not be scientific, but it’s in the ballpark. Basically, there’s two groups of Americans who unconditionally support Israel: neocons, who want Israel to start WWIII, and the Christian right, who want Israel to initiate the Rapture. And then go to hell where they belong.
Hate to be the one to break the news, but Helen Thomas just announced her immediate “retirement.”
My thoughts on all of this: if we’ve reached the point where we now identify the folks who cram people into ghettos as “the good guys”, we probably need to re-think our concepts of what constitutes “good guys.”
Israel maintains an apartheid regime, which they could not do without massive US aid and support. They show their gratitude for this support by shitting in the punchbowl whenever an opportunity presents itself, then turning around and screaming “antisemitism!!!” to anyone who points out the obvious fact that they shit in the punchbowl. At this point in time, the US has merely become an enabler who allows an otherwise fairly powerless bully to throw his weight around – to our detriment and ultimately, to Israel’s own. No matter what levels of brutality they ascend to in their efforts to “ensure the safety” of their country, the demographics will eventually win out; the US will not be a superpower forever and the Chinese don’t seem all that interested in underwriting the brutality of a national regime which has no resources to offer in return. Had Israel not mounted a hysterical response to each and every minor attack over lo these many years, the chance would exist that at some future point, this could all be worked out and Israeli and Palestinian might be able to live side-by-side in peace, sharing the same “homeland.” As it is, as soon as our protection racket ends, Israel will be crushed.
I suppose it makes me an “antisemite” to point all this out.
Oh Jennifer, I thought we had cleared this up. You said – in your role as apparent arbiter of all rules that qualify me to be an American citizen – that I must, yes, MUST answer your question. I replied “go fuck yourself.” Now, I had thought this was crystal clear, but it appears it may still be fence sitting in your opinion since you have issued calls for new pledges. Let me try again.
Go fuck yourself with a cheese grater.
Shalom.
Yes, but also, too, all the scary Mooslims worldwide hate us for our freedom and are bent on our destruction! And we should attack Iran before they nuke us, also, too.
OK, Mississippi I can understand–in places, if you introduce yourself as a snake-handler, one of the locals will ask you if you get your snakes from Australia where they’re extra-poisonous, the way that they do, instead of being one of those wussy rattlesnake wranglers–but South Dakota?
“Jewhad”
God you crack me up sometimes. Actually most of the times.
I wonder if this incident will mark a turning point in our unconditional support for Israel. They are so clearly in the wrong here, and the response of it’s supporters so over-the-top. I myself have slowly changed my thinking over the many years since 1967. Exactly what do we get from our unlimited support? How have are our national interests and security benefited? Secretary of State Marshall opposed partition in 1947, and even assured the Saudis that it would not happen. He feared just what actually happened.
I suppose it makes me an “antisemite” to point all this out.
Sounds like it makes you a realist. Artificial states cost a ridiculous amount of overhead.
To the best of my knowledge there are no Jews who live in South Dakota. My belief is that other than two or three geography teachers, no one actually knows where South Dakota is, or confuses it with North Dakota, which is actually not there anyway. So, it may well be that South Dakota is Brigadoon and believes in many, many things that the rest of us cannot see. Or not.
Can’t say what Mississippi is thinking of, except probably wishing that Haley Barbour would go back to wherever it is he came from.
Oh you haters! If it wasn’t for all of the accurate intelligence provided by Israel we might have gone to war against Iraq, pulled critical assets out of Afghanistan and then spent a trillion dollars and thousands of lives bogged down in two endless wars. The next thing we know you’ll be asserting that Israel is nothing more than a religion-enthralled, paranoid, thugocracy with a disturbing propensity for collective punishment. That can’t be true.
Hmm, does this make South Dakota and Mississippi the “chosen states?”
For her next illusion, Ms. Rubin will defend Marty Peretz’ now-out-in-the-open bigotry towards those of “Arab” descent.

Once again, the self-awareness is weak in these folks. To paraphrase, apparently IOKIYAAZ (the last word is “Zionist”!)
Gentlemen! (and the Ladies!) — This is all a tempest in a Teapot: we need to focus on the REAL threat here, the brown people. Israelis are not brown (except for the ravers, kibbutzers, and the ones who sell jewelry on the world’s sidewalks, who are all tanned) so we should not waste our national hate on them. Thanks to BP, we can increase the number of hated brown people right here in the USA, since thanks to Miss. Guv.’s enlightened leadership, everyone who spends time around water will become “mousse-colored”. Let the 10 minute hate begin.
Mr.smarty pants TBogg, you know who else looked at polls like this?
HILTER!
There are too Jews in South Dakota. or maybe that should be two not too.
But we do have running for governor, a real tea party candidate, two long time legislator’s running on balancing the budget and cutting spending, a Pierre outsider running on the same issues and a democrat who is trying to claim the Republicans are too lax in their budget cutting fervor. So even the democrats have plenty of conservative tendencies
I’m a citizen of the United States. Suppose I am enabling Israel’s destroyers; so what? Why do I owe loyalty to Israel? I am a citizen of the United States, so that to me, Israel is a foreign country.
A cheese grater? I like that. Ups the ante, puns intended, quite nicely.
I think I saw that done, the thing with a cheese grater, on a porn site.
Having been to South Dakota more than once, I think I can supply the answer: there are only about a dozen people there and only the crazy ones saw the poll.
Wait. Hawaii is red?
