TBogg:
Do you ever write about that Luke Russert wannabe named Ben Shapiro? He’s just written another doozy I hear.
The more I see, the less I want to know.

re Michael Franti.
I first heard him on The Wire singing Oh My God.
I love, love, love this song—both words and music! It’s my ringtone when I get calls from my son, who pointed me to it. I adore Franti’s music video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehu3wy4WkHs It’s shot in Brazil, which gives you happy visuals to go with this fabulously wonderful song.
Hope the concert is as good throughout.
SO glad to see Michael get a wider audience and hopefully some financial comfort. The guy’s been fighting the good fight for a long time.
I knew of Franti back in the day (early 90s) when he was with Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. Way ahead of the times:

He’s embedding his message now in more “marketable” music for masses, and it’s been great to see it have such impact. Of course, “true progressives” probably think he’s a sell-out though. Oh well…sing it, brother Michael!
I’ve only heard Mr Franti with Spearhead. This was a pretty sweet wake up, Thanks.
Meh….
Boy he’s really tapped into it, how lovely.
Much to our kids’ dismay, Mrs. Monty’s theme song is “Stay Human” (“Heed the words of the Dalai Lama, or at least the words of your mama”). Something about seeing your 56 year old mother rapping, I guess….
He stole Randy Neuman’s Voice!
