In light of many highly influential blogs, and also RedState, taking a stand on whether we should let the Muslim Cordoba Initiative people just willy-nilly slap together any old building like they’re some kind of ululating Donald Trump or something, I, and the directors of TBogg Blog LLC, felt it important to go the record to state that we believe that the good people of the Cordoba Initiative should agree to move their mosquey thing to a more suitable neighborhood, (possibly next door to 165 East 56th Street, New York, NY 10022) if the Catholic Church will agree to shut down all of its churches and rectories situated within 8oo feet of any and all elementary schools. Also, Little League fields, Boys Clubs, and Boy Scout camps because, hoo boy, those things are like a candy store and a all-you-can-eat bacon buffet rolled up in one to those guys…
I’d say the ball is in your court, Pope Benedict XXL.
No. Not that kind of ball.
Jesus, you guys….

These are troubling times. I know just what those poor frightened patriot-bunnies over at RedState are going through. What we need to do is fall back on traditional Heartland Values™, and take comfort in good ol’ fashioned U.S.of.A.-type entertainment, to take our minds off the predations of the scary brown people that threaten to ravage and despoil our star-spangled jeezus-eagle virtues.
That’s why I say bring back SCTV, and the clean, wholesome – and yes, Made in the USA – entertaining fare it offered.
And they didn’t forget the children either. It’s just how they were.
That artistic impression looks like an almost 1:1 copy of the Alhambra.
On a serious note TBogg, don’t you realize that Cordoba was a CALIPHATE in Al-Andalus? Don’t you understand what these people are up to?
Spain was not enough, fer Christ sake!!!

Hey meepmeep09, you do know that SCTV was really a subversive skewering of Americana from Canuckistan, doncha?
They even stuck lil Canajun bits in there with the whole Floyd Robertson/Earl Camenbert newsreaders schtick. Old Lloyd Robertson himself is finally retiring after outlasting about 3 heir apparents (including John Roberts of CNN, formerly JD Roberts of The New Music which played them thar new fangled vid ee ohs back in the late 70s on that left wing station CityTV that brought you — SCTV).
Hit the link for the address. oh dear.
Tbogg, you really are subversive. I like that.
TBogg for the win.
Dear Mr. Tbogg,
Your slight against the Holy Roman Church is an abomination, as is this new satanic worship and rec center proposed by the Mohammedites. In fact, if it is built, I will personally head down there every day with my binoculars to keep an eye on the blasphemers. Fear not Red State, for I will stand guard by the pool, especially on swimming instruction day for 8-10 year old boys. These nubile young terroists an be quite slippery.
Yours In Christ,
Father Stickyfingers
Goodevening ladies and germs…
Whats the difference between acne and a Catholic Priest?
Acne will usually not come on a kid’s face until around 13 or 14 years of age.
Bu-da-bump splash. Thanks I’ll be here all week.
Zing! You understand, of course, that this completely negates any chances you may have had for that audience with His Holiness. You dodged another bullet! Excellent work, as always.
Shouldn’t we move the airports also?
Very nice, T
Damn, and here I was, having a crappy old day, and now I’m smiling from ear to ear. Thank you tbogg — it just wouldn’t be the same without you.
Also, scratch (above), this is the honest-to-god cover of the Vermont Catholic Church’s June newsletter. No, really. On. The. Cover.
Hony soit qui mal y pense.
Did someone say the Pope? Il Papa? The Bishop of Rome? You did?
OK, here ya go
Nice, but shouldn’t the logo on his cap say ‘ND’. They will be really pissed in South Bend.
My my my. That is quite unfortunate, indeed. However, it cracked me up, so it’s all good in the end.
T, man, you are fucking funny. This is some grade-A shit you got right here.
Without even clicking the link, I read that as “holy shit qui mal y pense”…
On SCTV – I always thought its foundation was Canadians mocking – with that fab combo of surrealism, affection, and sharp observation – the kind of Canadian town which is recognizable to anybody familiar with equivalent midwestern US towns that are well away from the bright lights of the cosmopolis. After all, Tex & Edna Boyle’s Organ Emporium (remember when Tex dropped dead, and Edna was advertising for his successor, along with promoting the electric organs and, IIRC, lawn furniture?) was “out on the highway” – only one main road in the vicinity, no need to say which highway.
I miss all those geniuses. Not to mention, in the current context, Father Guido Sarducci.
Move the airports? Makes sense. After all, if a community center with a prayer facility in it is a mosque, then an airport with a chapel is a cathedral.
Actually, by ‘sense,’ I mean something completely different.
