Try this out on your fancy: Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, is being sought in Sweden for questioning on rape and molestation. He says it’s a frame. I loved the comment from the authorities:

They issued a warrant for his arrest, a move that doesn’t necessarily mean that criminal charges will be filed. Investigators want him in custody because they believe there is a risk he will obstruct the probe by destroying evidence, said Karin Rosander, a spokeswoman for the Swedish Prosecution Authority.

My question to the group is, what evidence? Are they afraid he’ll castrate himself? Marry the girl? WTF?

When I was hunting around for Thurber dog illustrations, I came across animations of Thurber dogs:

a collaboration between ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Thurber House, and the Ohio State University’s Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD). ProMusica performed Peter Schickele’s Thurber’s Dogs – Suite for Orchestra, at the Southern Theatre on January 10-11, 2009.

Lesley, there’s also a lovely animated cartoon of “The Unicorn in the Garden” from the 50s done by the UPA animation studio before it was ruined by the HUAC witch-hunters. If it’s available anywhere, boy is it ever worth watching.

Hey great! It made me mist up the last time I watched it – longish time ago, that was. BTW, I’d love to be named Susan or Suzannah or just Sue, but “suedoise” is French for “Swedish woman”, which I half am, in the hyphenated-American sense. (I’m surprised the Swedish law enforcement types fell for that smear on the WikiLeak guy, even temporarily. Shame on them.)

since you said we could talk about ANYTHING i have a complaint: it’s hot as hell here in north texas and all my gerber daisies are DEAD. normally they just don’t bloom when it gets hot here, then bloom again for me in the fall when the temps drop. but. now. they.are.all.dead.dead.dead.

so seeing that picture just reminded me of how sick i am of summer and how my gerbers are dead.dead.dead.dead………(repeat ad nauseum)

I have to take a moment from the warm fuzzy and wonder that, most likely, they are contemplating how edible the flowers are more than enjoying their smell..(they meaning Beckham too)

Fenway puts me in my happy not-so-grumpy place, which is much needed.
