The “left wing” thing is so fully illustrative of just how stupid they are. Someone tweets this, completely without any form of confirmation (because no one on the right EVER lies to further their agencda or even just for attention), but they all lap it up as fact. Then the uber-reliable World Net Daily pounces on it, so there’s your fact checking right there!

His authority confirmed links to far right hate groups, the fact that he has more far right reading material on his list (and the common thread is violent overthrow) means nothing. Because otherwise, they’d have to stop being jackasses, and we can’t have THAT, can we?

It appears as if he’s troubled and most likely insane, but if you want to look for influences among his insanity you’re going to find far more from the extreme right wing fringes than from anywhere else. If the Tea Party apologists had any sense they would leave it at “he’s just crazy”, because if you invite people to look at his influences in terms of left or right, they’re not going to like what people find there.

Loughner was no crazier in his political philosophy than the average poster at Free Republic. The only difference, as far as I can tell, is he acted on his fantasies. Sure, the Right will disavow the shooter and the act…but no one can convince me that many people who identify with the Right aren’t satisfied that the message that was sent: you oppose us at great personal risk. These people hate democracy…what they want is a One Party system that reflects their warped ideas about what a proper society should look like.

Meanwhile, in happier, more sane news: the Supreme Court tells Orly Taitz: “get stuffed, you insane dentist, and stop wasting our time.” Of course, if she now up and moves to Arizona, I’d worry about her buying a slightly used Glock from the Loughner estate…

Something that I haven’t seen discussed in the media or on any blogs: For a moment let’s stipulate the inanity of the right: that politics had nothing to do with this. That the problem was not the heated right-wing rhetoric and the real problem was that the killer was batshit crazy and did not understand that he was attempting to kill a congresswoman, but rather thought he was killing, oh I don’t know, Bozo the Clown. The right needs to be asked then, what is the solution to this violence? Here’s a thought: how about a comprehensive healthcare system that includes mental health services and is open a free to all Americans regardless of their ability to pay? Whadda you think they’ll say to that?

This crap, like most of the rightwing crap surrounding this horrible shooting, is simply intended to muddy the waters. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or false, sane or insane, credible or laughable.

It’s the propaganda equivalent of chaff, to raise the noise level up to the point that few reporters, and few of the public, have the patience to find nuggets of truth in mountains of BS.

And they wouldn’t do it if they weren’t incredible guilty. Sure, Palin probably didn’t say “who will rid me of this troublesome congresswoman?”, but that’s just because she’s pig-ignorant and doesn’t know the classics.

Here’s a question I’d like answered: How come the gun rack at one Walmart wouldn’t sell anything to the lunatic because he, frankly, acted like a lunatic and another WalMart would? Actually, I agree with you. The Right is panic stricken about now, they’re afraid that they might truly loose this conversation. They’d throw their grandmother into a jet engine if they thought it would give a moment’s distraction.

I work for Walmart’s mutant sister, Sam’s Club, and I can tell you what kind of people they hire for gunselling or any other jobs — anybody. They don’t train hires because it’s a waste of time and money and there’s too much turnover to justify it. Other than showing new hires an anti-union DVD on the first day and “computer-based training” that won’t challenge low-literates, that’s it. I think the topics of CBT are all legally mandated or they wouldn’t bother with them either. Gun department employees would only get extra skills if there’s a monetary penalty to Walmart stockholders in withholding them.
