I think it’s just maddening to the war crowd, watching the denizens of some dusky sand country, the type that they get boners over invading, taking matters into their own hands and determining their own destiny, without any meddling from the PNACs of the world. They can’t stand the idea of a situation they can’t control for their benefit. That’s what’s behind all the opinion-hopping, of course: they want to find an ex post facto justification for hailing Bush, blaming Obama, and tut-tutting about dirty extremist takeovers, but they don’t know quite how it’s going to end, so they need to have multiple storylines available.

This is only the beginning. The rhetoric from these neocon assclowns as they try to advocate for “democracy” in Egypt while simultaneously keeping Israel’s tuchas covered is going to be painful.

I have no doubt that Mr. Bolton believes that this version of “democracy” applies to this country as well as any other.

The U.S. supported with all its heart and tens-of-billions of dollars the corrupt and dictatorial Mubarak regime for over thirty years, but you’d never know that listening to Barark Obama or Hillary Clinton.

In fact, Clinton said, and I quote, “We are on the side, as we have been for over thirty years, of a democratic Eygpt.” Horsefeathers!

A truly great country would be anxious to admit its mistakes, to correct the wrongs it has committed against the Eygptian people.

There is much bigger problem than some foreign country, and what the citizenry can do to seize control.

If they can be reached as to who is really lying about their condition, and taking advantage of them and the middle class in general; they are perfectly capable of joining the throng demanding that we get the kind of justice from our government that the Egyptians now enjoy from theirs.

I just hope that when this all happens, that we are not fired upon by our military, as the Egyptians enjoyed from theirs. I am not optimistic, however.

Dude… dude. They don’t care. They are the ones who think Hillary killed Vince Foster. Think Saddam flew the planes on 9/11. That the Iraqi WMD were shipped to Syria. That Obama was born in Kenya. They are the 28 percenters, and reality has little bearing on their beliefs. They cannot be brought to reason en mass by some great eye opening event, the best we can hope for is that they shut up for awhile (but they would be back – they always come back).

Motivating people to actually care enough to do something is the hardest part of political organizing, and it is temping to look to the low hanging fruit of already motivated people to join you in The Cause, but they aren’t really low hanging fruit – they’ve actually fallen off the tree, and lie rotting on the ground.

Examples of the fact that these citizens have goofy beliefs fed to them by the white wing media Wurlitzer does nothing to the underlying issue. They believe themselves to be patriots. They can be reached, particularly if the rest of us get off our butts emotionally.

We have a great ally in making us focus and get motivated. The idiots that are running Congress, and that is a dual party problem. An example is the one successful program in the last 75 years; Social Security being attacked, and at least not being defended enough.

I suggest our government is motivating us; the real government of the Shadow Elite, a government that says we cannot collect taxes and must cut spending in order to justify further tax cuts.

Our incredible and increasing loss of our middle class is a clarion call.

I recall seeing Arlo Guthrie in concert years ago (as in, anti-Vietnam War years aga), and his saying that he had much more in common with people who were passionate for the other side than he did with people on his side who were wishy-washy. It’s a lot easier to convince someone who cares to care for your beliefs (good education is all that takes) than it is to teach someone to care at all.

Not saying it’s gonna happen, especially on an American Idol or DWTS night, but it is our best (and only) hope.
