America’s Film Editor, Andrew Breitbart was in Madison Wisconsin today with his buddy, rape apologist Jim Hoft, to rally his tea bagging troops against the union people because if there is any group that Breitbart hates more than negroes and African Americans and the coloreds…. it’s working people. And everyone knows that if Andrew is going to show up, there will be filming…with judicious editing to follow. But it’s not a Big Brietbart production unless somehow he can insert pimps (see here and here) into the story.
Courtesy of the Ole Perfesser (a state employee who has better than collective bargaining…he has tenure!), here is a shot from today’s Tea Bagging Rally Against People Who Do More Than Ride Around On Medicare Funded Hoverounds:
Hey wait. Let’s go all Antonioni on that picture:
So this is really about Gov. Scott Walker bitch slapping teachers and state employees and keeping their asses in line.
Duly noted.

It didn’t look anything like that when I was there.
From what I hear, they were only there for long enough to get on national TV, then split.
Probably, all I know is that the few I saw before I got to the Teabagger area seemed.. well, furtive…
Kerners are go!
Teabaggers were bussed in by Republican funded ‘American Majority’.
I gather these teabaggers sit by the phone 24/7 waiting for the call from TeaPartyHQ.
If you can’t afford to pay ordinary workers, you can’t afford giving tax breaks to rich people, asshole.
Hey, Scott! Tell your bosses the Koch brothers to start paying their fair share of taxes for a change.
I can’t wait for the part where James O’Keefe films himself being given refuge in a remote farmhouse by Democratic resistance fighters, who he claims offered him a fake doctor’s note just before on his signal the first motorized hemorrhoid battalion swoops in and rounds them all up.
Er, sort of thing.
“Guy showed up and said he needed a doctor” baffled residents of the remote farm said to police later, “who were we to argue?”
Actually, I’m kind of relieved. I figured he’d show up and someone would accidentally step on his foot and within half an hour he’d have the violent union thug video up and running, but apparently no one gave him any material and he was mostly ignored, which is really the best punishment for such a raging douche.
Stand up for Walker…then bend over for Kochs. From over here in Oz this looks remarkably like what happened in Tahrir Square…or Chicago a wee while ago. Solidarity & slainte.
I was kind of hoping that the crowd would start chanting ‘SHIR-LEY SHER-ROD!!’ while Breitbart was around.
Heads up! Sounds like Hosni Mubarak Walker’s ordering out the riot police to attack protesters in the middle of the night:
If Walkers going too do that 2AM would be the time to avoid as much MSM attention as possible but then it makes no sense to telegraph the move.Is this an attempt to rattle the pro-democracy demonstrators? An unauthorized leak? Does Walker think video of police routing the demonstrators will play well with his base. It seems a dumb move to me if it is really what hes planning.
By the way what’s the official Teabagger count of the number of Koch-heads they turned out today.Round to the nearest million please.
I think that sympathetic cops leaked the news so that folks like us could get the word out.
Is Breitbart still not gay?

FDL has add to support Walker….
More f’ing kabuki. Do people still think the Dems support the unions? Bullsh*t. Here is the official Dem response:
Republicans attack unions to hurt Democrats: analysts
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/02/19/republicans-attack-unions-to-hurt-democrats-analysts/
Does that sound like they give two shits about unions? No. They turn it around and it’s all about the party. Once again. Stupid f*cks. They don’t care that the party in power is trying to take away workers rights, drive down wages, and get rid of benefits. Nope. They just publicly say, it isn’t about these peasant workers. No, no, it’s about the Dems. *spit* Disgusted. Maybe Mr. Bipartisan Republican Shill can get out the special teleprompter and spout more BS to add fuel to the fire.
A Brief Note of Non-Support to Gov. Walker:
She meant “ad”….
Breitbart is an “advisor” to GOProud — the GOP’s most important Not Gay org. He’s there to hold Grover Norquist’s hand.
OT but thought you all might like to see somebody who is really pushing the sheeple. It takes about 5 min before he gets down to the really “SCARY” stuff. But I can see where it would scare the tea bggers. His claims that rethugs and tea baggers are against what he says are, of course just BS. Enjoy. This is one reason, among many, that the sheeple think their entire world is falling apart

Scott Walker was expelled from Marquette University. For real.
Anyway, I was there on Saturday. If they teabaggers weren’t there you wouldn’t have noticed their absence. The crowd against the Walker-Koch dictatorship was that massive.
80,000 is a conservative figure.
I was at the Springteen-Gore rally. This was bigger.
We are going to continue to defend democracy on the Madison Capitol Square and inside the Capitol Building.
I love that despite Walker’s claims about a “silent majority”, Wrongfart’s teabag army was outnumbered 30:1 yesterday. Truly pathetic.
Phoenix Woman,
Gov. Walker might call in riot police? I’ve suspected he’s itching to do something like that, but the tax-paying citizens who are protesting are peaceful. A heavy-handed police presence would change things for the worse. Maybe Obama could call out the National Guard to protect the protestors if this should happen? (Didn’t Kennedy do something like that to enforce integration in Wallace’s Alabama?) And where is Mr. President, anyway?
Just because you claim that’s the official Democratic response doesn’t make it so. It just makes you look like a stupid hack who’s turning this into another “let’s bash Obama” game.
There’s a “Stand With Scott” ad on these very FDL pages, telling folks to “click here if you want to support Scott in standing strong against union demands.”
I’d sure like to see Springsten, Mellencamp and any other musicians turn up to rally & entertain the troops.
Oops, probably afraid of offending Obama if they do that.
Tom Morello, the guitarist for Rage Against the Machine will be playing in Madison on Monday.
From HuffPo
I think Walker stuck his head in the wrong rec room. It was the University of Wisconsin students shut down Dow and napalm and took the first beatings from police in the anti-war movement. It’s exciting to see how they outnumber the teabaggers once they get out on the streets. If they stay involved, this protest has real legs.
And if it is such a dire emergency why not include the police and fire departments in the sacrifice?
Walker decided to pay back the folks who supported him, and give him some muscle to push the protesters off.
Of course 6 months from now he’d screw ‘em over. “Well, I took it away from everyone else. So why should you be any different?”
Some of what was presented on FDL on the Wisconsin controversy was based on an editorial from the Madison Captial Times. That editorial contained misinformation based on a misunderstanding of a confusing budget memo by a nonpartisan civil servant’s analysis that seemed to show a budgetary surplus. However, the small print showed that the “surplus” did not take into account certain debts that were outside the scope of the normal budget. When those debts were added in, there was a $137-million shortfall.
http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/feb/18/rachel-maddow/rachel-maddow-says-wisconsin-track-have-budget-sur/
That shortfall does not take into account the $140-million in tax cuts that Walker got passed. Those tax cuts don’t take effect until July.
So Walker and the Republicans did not create the current $137-million shortfall, but his actions have doubled the size of the deficit.
We sure were! and the photograph from Friday showing the uniformed Madison Police Department walking in formation to the Capitol warmed my heart – my memory was the the Madison Police Department in full riot gear marching down University Ave. to intimidate us! Too bad Walker didn’t have that kind of college education at Marquette.
And if your “reasoning” is they’re too critical to the smooth running of society to be able to collectively threaten to withhold their services, then police and firefighters should be at the top of the list to have their rights yanked, rather than folks like teachers, who are “only” in the business of helping people learn to think and develop the skills necessary to be good citizens and members of society.
He’s hiding, trying to think up a compromise that would leave him looking like a leader.
Let’s put it this way: If Walker’s remedy is so fair, then why exclude law enforcement and firefighters? If he doesn’t want to risk having them strike, then that is an implicit admission that there is an issue of unfairness.
I think the criticisms of Walker, et al, can be made without the homophobia. Suggesting someone bend over is homophobia, plain and simple.
One of the great myths of the revisionist history of the Vietnam era is that we turned out because we were afraid of the draft. My ass. I didn’t go into the streets until I came back from the Army. If people get the message that this is about protecting the one countervailing power left to oppose the corporations on any level, they will turn out. The first battle is being fought in the public sector maybe, but, when folks catch on that their kids’ teachers represent a whole class of workers who are slowing but surely sinking into poverty, the fight is going to spread. Coming soon to a university city near you.
Yes. the return of the GIs gave the rest of us a credibility and knowledge that broadened our scope at the same time that it made us uneasy knowing the sacrifice you had already made while we were safe here at home with the choice to demonstrate and study. Afraid of the draft in the normal way anyone would be to have to face the possibility of death, or, at the least, learning to kill- an unnatural human activity. The draft made us fight for the end of war. it was our way of telling the government it was wrong. just like now.
Juan Cole explains one reason for attacking unions:
“Teachers can protest. I’ve never said they can’t. I said they shouldn’t WHEN THEY SHOULD BE IN THE CLASSROOM TEACHING.”
A teabagger defending Dems. How novel.
Do you think the public sector that wants everyone to stand up for them will ever stand up for the workers who have been sinking into poverty for the last 40 years.I’ve not heard anyone say anything about Jobs where min. wage’s are liveable wage’s.Will thay go back and not be heard from if thay get there way or will thay be out pushing for liveable wage jobs for those who loss while thay gained the last 40 years.
Actually, a lot of us do support living wage laws and increased union membership for all working Americans. You have to remember, however, that as state workers we face certain limitations regarding political speech.
We here at http://www.howdyland.com have taken leave from our work at News From The Great Re-Depression to slide easily among the crowds at the Capitol in Madison Wisconsin. Yesterday, while circling our mighty dome, I had to look far and wide for Walker supporters. They were there, but they were few. You could tell them by the angry frowny faces they made. The vast majority of union supporters were in a sunny mood.
As I left the square, I couldn’t help but notice the Fox News truck, ringed with security people and utterly ignored by the passing thousands.
Hello.
Problem for Walker is that union members support members of other unions–that old, “Our unity is our strength” thing, you know. The unions have the police department, the fire department, the teachers, as well as other public employees, and let us not forget–the Teamsters–on their side.
On his side, Walker has bluff and bluster, the Koch brothers and Corporate media, and the scooter brigade.
Which side could we do without? Argh! Decisions, decisions…
I don’t know. But I do know the last time I looked, there were a ton of elementary school teachers who actually qualified for food stamps.
The irony here is that while teachers unions support Democrats, a lot of school teachers trend at least moderately conservative. Walker may have just screwed the pooch for the Republicans in Wisconsin.
It’s about time “Breitbart” was turned into a verb. Meaning similar to “to O’Keefe.”
I think that Scottie is too busy bending over to take it one more from the Koch bros. to do anything else.
Funny how deceitful Republicans always seem to come-up with deceitful names for their deceitful organizations…American Majority?
The late Rev. Jerry Falwell admitted just before he died almost a decade ago that his so-called “Moral Majority” was never a majority. Falwell declared “culture war” in America by establishing his so-called “Moral Majority” the same year of the Iranian hostage crisis, 1979, and when another religious fundamentalist, the Iranian ayatollah, declared “culture war” on the West, and Western democracies. Go figure.
If Republicans and right-wing religious leaders didn’t have lies, they’d have nothing to say at all.
