After commenting negatively on a website yesterday re West’s behavior, late today I received a donation solicitation email from his campaign. As I’m sure you all know, normal solicitation via email allow you to only exit or click on a “donate now” button. Someone on his campaign really screwed up because just for laughs, I clicked on ‘REPLY” and to my surprise, it behaved as a regular email. I thanked Congressman West for giving me the opportunity to vent directly about his abhorrent behavior and then went into my rant. I can’t tell you how much better I felt. They apparently pulled the info off my original post and never read the post. I can only imagine the the tirades he got from other people who were solicited in error. I love it.

Having been an Army Colonel, West would have come to Congress already knowing a thing or two about politics. His broadside against Schultz would have been ruminated upon, preplanned, and cleared through Boehner as well. I don’t think it was off the cuff or simply reckless by a long shot.

I know nothing of West’s constituency other than it’s in south Florida. Maybe there’s a lot of military living there, or other right wing cultivars. It seems he wanted to provoke a response including the hue-’n-gender genre, which he did, and he must have figured he’d profit from it in the end.

One last thing and I’ll shut up about the tattle taling (though I do think West has outed himself as a HUGE pussy in all of this!): Keith Olbermann read the email on air last night. When he got to the “notified my party’s majority leader and whip” part, Keith paused and exclaimed, “ooohhh, scary!!!”. Just awesome.

West forgets a few things here, DWS was deputy whip (forget if she still is or not) when the Dems held the house majority, she’s now DNC chair and has considerably more tenure than West (who can probably kiss reelection bye-bye). Even with their House minority status, she has a LOT more power than West does.

And not to defend Boner, but I really doubt he’d approve West’s actions in advance. By all accounts he kinda hates the teatards and they make his life pretty miserable. Cantor, in his endless bucking for a promotion might’ve told West to go ahead—especially since he’s the Bagger Leader these days…

DWS just pointed out that West doesn’t even live in his own district. He lives in hers! I can understand why West would rather be a carpetbagger, because DWS would break her foot off in his ass if he ran against her.

What I don’t understand is why he is so popular with certain people.

I’m a little embarrassed to admit that much of my Facebook friend list is old friends/acquaintances from high school, including a couple that I don’t really remember, but asked to friend, and I thought, what the heck, and said yes. Well, one of those is a biiig Allan West fan…half her posts are about how wonderful she thinks he is!
My reaction is always WTF…finally I just “hid” all her posts, rather than piss her off and offend mutual friends by de-friending her. But times like now I’d really like to tell her off. It wouldn’t matter, of course.
