Fake journalist Mark Tapscott of fake newspaper The Washington Examiner ( Motto: “Even the Washington Times needs someone to look down upon“) “reports” that the Wisconsin Democratic Party is going to “sic” their army of Union Beserker Orcs on some website which can only mean that there is going to be a serious ass-kicking tonight:
A spokesman for the Wisconsin Democratic Party has threatened to sic union bullies on an independent news organization whose reporting he thinks is “biased.”
Graeme Zeilinski was upset that a WisconsinReporter.com reporter noted in an interview with the Heritage Foundation think thank that Wisconsin had, according to U.S. Department of Labor data, created nearly half of all the new jobs created across the country in June.
In an email titled “What Happens Next,” Zeilinski warned WisconsinReporter.com that:
“What happens next is that I contact the publishers and editors of the papers that publish you as ‘unbiased,’ and let them know our deep concern about the obvious bias that permeates your entire operation,” Zielinski states in his email.
“Then, we let our activists know which papers publish you, and they write the publisher and editor. Then, we contact the Capitol press pool and let them know about our concerns about your credentialing. And we continue on until you actually admit to the truth of your operation.”
Okay. Maybe not an “ass-kicking” per se, but one man’s “contacting people and voicing your concerns about possible bias” is another man’s “kick him in the nuts”. Both very hurtful I am told.
Tapscott adds:
Zeilinski’s email could easily be read as a threat to organize union demonstrators against Wisconsin newspapers that publish reporting provided to them by WisconsinReporter.com’s staff. And his vow to go after WisconsinReporter.com’s capitol media credentials is an obvious effort to silence a news organization with which he disagrees.
[...]
WisconsinReporter.com is an independent news organization associated with the Franklin Center for Government and Public Intergrity, a non-profit foundation devoted to encouraging quality news reporting on state government and politics.
“Wisconsin Reporter’s content is trusted by tens of thousands of individuals in Wisconsin who get our stories, whether through our newspaper partners, our website, or they read it on Facebook or Twitter,” said Jason Stverak, Franklin’s president.
So unfair. A legitimate news gathering organization affiliated with a real live public integritude foundation:
The Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity[1] was founded on January 13, 2009 to serve as a national organization dedicated to training and supporting investigative journalism and journalistic endeavors at state based think tanks and other state based groups, individuals and organizations.
Originally funded by a sponsorship grant from the Sam Adams Alliance, the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity began operating independently, having received 501(c)3 tax status from the Internal Revenue Service on June 5, 2009.
Headed by this guy:
Jason Stverak is a native of Rapid City, South Dakota and President[1] of the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity, a position he has held since January 2009. Before his service to the Franklin Center, Stverak served as Regional Field Director for the Sam Adams Alliance as well as Executive Director of the North Dakota Republican Party.
And that Sam Adams Alliance? Not about beer…:
Sam Adams Alliance (SAM) is a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. The group describes itself as “raising awareness of free-market principles and policies while building capacity in marketing and public relations for like-minded individuals and organizations.”
[...]
The Sammies[3] is an annual contest and awards show sponsored by Sam Adams Alliance. The awards have been billed as the “Oscars of Activism.” Its purpose is to honor bloggers, videographers, organizers and other grassroots activists who independently work to support free market ideas, and advocate for government transparency. On April 16, 2010, Sam Adams Alliance hosted the 3rd Annual Sammies at the Chicago Cultural Center, and awarded prizes in the categories of Blogger, Video, Town Hall, Tea Party, Watchdog, and Modern-Day Sam Adams. Internet media entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart delivered the event’s keynote speech. Previous Sammies presenters include columnist Michelle Malkin and Wall Street Journal writer John Fund.
But other than that, anyone who accuses Wisconsinreporter.com of “bias” is a First Amendment-hating union goonthug.

You won’t regret it.
Yeah, and those union bullies are going to steal the election, just like ACORN. As a matter of wingnut fact (that is to say, pure fabrication), everyone from ACORN transferred over to the Wisconsin Unions.
I’m sure it’s all the fault of legacies attending the Ivy League.
Shorter “lying piece of shit” Tapscott:
I am being victimized by MATH THUGS!!!!!!
Yeah, the thugs who know the difference between “net” and “total”. It’s just mean to point that out.
Looks like it’s a popular activity to misspell Mr. Zielinski’s name; it’s wrong in the original post (excerpts) as well.
Here is his @gjzielinski Twitter account URL: http://twitter.com/#!/gjzielinski
Sez he used to be an Onion writer too; I’m liking him better and better.
Tapscott. Noun (slang) 1: One who sexually services Wisconsin governor Scott Walker. ex: “Man, that guy who works for the Examiner is such a tapscott.“
It looks like Graeme Zielinski has been getting under the skin of the wingnut orc-bloggers for awhile, judging from the results list of a Google search of his name – hah, even Colonel Mustard, the feature of Mr. Bogg’s previous post, shows up in that collection of RWNJ whiney weenies.
Likely this is because of what’s at stake in the WI recalls, but also probably due to the fact he doesn’t back down, and combines wit and eloquence in his work. The wingnut response is a bit reminiscent of how they fought tooth-and-nail against Al Franken’s election.
That “half the new jobs” thing is just such bullshit on its face. Wisconsin has a population of about 6 million, so maybe 2% of the country. How is it even mathematically possible for them to create half the country’s jobs? They’d have to have an unemployment rate of like 1.5%, and everyone else in the 20-30% range. I mean, I’m not even a math guy and it falls apart the second I look at it. Does anyone not actively employed in propping up the Walker administration believe this?
Also, gotta love that conservative fact-checking:
Zeilinski’s email could easily be read as a threat to
Nothing but the indisputable truth here, folks!
I could be wrong here so I will say it first.
The jobs increase for May/June would reflect the resorts, recreation areas hiring summer help. Wisconsin is a great state for it’s venues and a lot of part-time help would be needed to staff those sites. JMHO.
Math curriculum has been dumbed down for years, always under the guise of “new and improved”.
Of course they think they can “catapult” this propaganda!
Its a sad fact that most young people (and I am sure adults) cannot understand percentages, and try to do something MORE than slices of a pizza with fractions? LOL – forget it!
I would even venture half of those “half the jobs in the country” are in Wisconsin Dells, WI—-waterpark capital of the country.
Michelle Malkin + Sammie. I just know there’s a porn plot in there somewhere.
And most likely spot on in that analysis!! Lots of summer jobs to service the vacationers.. JMHO!!! Yup!
The Dells is a very busy place and I totally agree with your assessment.
We live in Illinois and go to Wisconsin quite often and always enjoy ourselves.
The neat trick part of it is those jobs are “seasonal” and won’t be reflected anywhere once they disappear when all the resorts, etc close. The workers won’t be eligible for UI so we won’t learn anything there.
Permanent job creation with invisible workers. And next year they can do it all over again.
I guess that Scott Walker will just ignore that fact like many others.
I really cannot wait for Tuesday, it cannot come fast enough.
Speaking of twitter… Mr Bogg has been trash talking Baby Jesus and My Broncs, of late…! I’m fervently praying that God will not forsake his Son…! ;-)
I sure hope all those pukes get recalled follow by Walker early next year. These Koch repukes have gone way too far for the working classes to stomach!!!
Gonna be real interesting.
There are a lot of toilets to clean at the growing crowds at lambeau (training/preseason football), miller park (brewers having good year), and at hotels across state (some nights in summer, it is literally impossible to get a room).
Just call this walker’s toilet recovery.
I have spent last 3 days on the ground in luther olsen’s district – he is the scummiest of politicians and has not had any opposition/challenger since 2004.
He literally steals from farmers, children, and the taxpayers – but I digress.
This is all going to come down to turn-out-the-vote which will mean that if the process of voting is impeded, we are going to be hurt – I foresee massive challenges in some communities and, like it or not, some folks are not going to choose to/be able to wait around to vote in long lines that don’t move.
While there is great potential to flip the senate, this is really scary too – if we fail, too scary to contemplate.
The minds of voters are largely made up, virtually no undecided. It is now about:
1. getting people out to the polls
2. people being able to vote in a reasonable, timely fashion
3. an open, fair, and transparent vote count (which may not actually exist in all districts/precincts.
I am starting to get nervous, but will be knockin’ on doors Monday and Tuesday.
Good for you and thank you for the efforts you are putting in.
Turnout will be the key and like you said to be able to vote in timely manner. Maybe the people are so pissed off they will wait for however long it takes.
Good on you!
Just imagine if every State had vote-by-mail like we do in Oregon….
Internet media entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart delivered the event’s keynote speech. Previous Sammies presenters include columnist Michelle Malkin and Wall Street Journal writer John Fund.
Why, Breitbart, Malkin and Fund are a veritable triumvirate of integritude. None have ever been accused of anything other than honest, principled writing and reporting, free of any partisan taint. How could anyone accuse such a fine media organization of bias?
hope so, especially since at the polls you will be asked for ID, but will not be required to show it. As I understand, there will be 2 lines.
Hopefully, this will piss off those that want to oust luther olsen (criminal that he is) and make them more determined to stay.
Also, hopefully olsen’s supporters will not want to stand in line with all the Fred Clark supporters.
At recent Ripon-Birthplace-Of-The-Republican-Party fundraiser, at least as many people showed up to protest as paid 100 for some cheap cake. These types of actions ARE effective, scott walker was there too!
Please check out the video I made of the event:
http://www.youtube.com/breitlinks
There is more there too – And if you like, check out some of the music vids too (it was a music channel, before walker “dropped the bomb”)
Spot on – and just imagine if we had 90+ percent voter participation. I can only hope the dem party finally realizes that much of what should be its core support actually stays home year after year.
It is such a shame that obama has let so many down after all the hopey/changey stuff in 2008.
Luther Olsen is merely a reflection of a “scummy” electorate.
Given that background, it is clear that he is on the up and up as a fair and balanced journamalist. It is not like he is a Mooney or works for Rupert Murdoch after all.
After knockin’ on doors today, you have a point; but even in the birthplace of the repug party, people are starting to smell the stench.
One undecided voter today talked to me, seemed to agree to vote for Clark (olsen’s opponent). There were many reasons to share why luther olsen deserves to be ousted from office.
The last thing I said before she said, “You’ve convinced me” was, “have you seen the yellow corvette that zips around town? That is luther olsen!”
BINGO!
He was born a multi-millionaire, I won’t criticize him for it, but I would have just been grateful. But luther olsen decided to use all that wealth and accompanying power to go into “public service” steal from the rest of us and destroy public education (long story here).
Man, I would have just been grateful to have been born rich. Olsen wasn’t satisfied and felt entitled to rape the public and loot the public coffers.
BOTH sound Like FREE SPEECH!
Confess to knowing zip about Luther Olsen until your commentary here. Yet this last bit sums up a lot of mega-wealthy (not all, of course) people. They’re born into some/lots/insane amounts of money, then feel totally *entitled* to rape, plunder & pillage the public coffers for more.
Hey: if you’re born so stinking rich, go work in the private sector and create more jobs for citizens, rather than *stealing* from citizens.
This is a salient fact that a lot of voters – both liberal & conservative – simply haven’t been grasping until recently.
Someone’s mama didn’t raise him right, as they say in some parts of these indifferently united states. You don’t want a kid to grow up feeling guilty about being a well-to-do white kid, none of which he had any say in, but you don’t want him taking credit for it, either.
Sad how many wing nuts beat up the Kennedys for doing just what onitgoes says @ 30: “if you’re born so stinking rich, go work in the private sector and create more jobs for citizens, rather than *stealing* from citizens.” I hold no brief for them but to lose three sons in one generation while in public service is a pretty heavy load.
commie, baby!! Where have you been???
