Meh. Nothing much caught my eye today following The Great SoCal Blackout (9/8 — Never Forget!). I only hope that Herman Cain doesn’t make a video memorializing it someday with him solemnly covering Little Walter’s Boom Boom, Out Go The Lights. in the background. So, after a short day at work, I just spent the rest of the afternoon reading the new Tom Perrotta in between impromptu naps. MrsTBogg and the L&T Casey are staying at a friends beach house down in Rosarita for the weekend so it’s just me and the boys wandering about the house and making plans for Sunday’s 9/11 observance which is shaping up to be “stretching out on the couch and napping during NFL games” like most American’s who don’t feel the need for calculated show-offy somber reflection designed for public display.
To do so would mean that the terrorists won.
So here’s you random ten-ish and I hope you appreciate the new Random 10 graphic..

Huh, kind of a narrative arc there: depressing in the middle, happy by the end.
When I save the new graphic it does not move for me like it does for you TBogg. It loses its mesmerizing hypnotic animated form (worthy of worship) and halts its orbit around my throbbing/pulsating fevered ocular peeps and stops. No revolution of hips, no look coyly over the shoulder and NO thrusting out of those hips of life to me. No. It stops. It does not animate nor emit a hint of awareness. It has died.
TBogg what is your secret?

Archive.org is an amazing thing, eh?
Pre-kids, Mrs. Monty and I lived in New Orleans for a while, and were fans of the local band The Radiators. One night in 1985, we saw them do an incredible acoustic show. That show, somehow, is on Archive.org. As a semi-old dude, some of this shit approaches the level of magic.
Archive.org is a wonderful place. I now have Three Shakiras on my desktop.

T, it’s like a layer cake, the body of which, w/ WZ,Magnetic Fields, Golden Palominos (yo, Anton, homeboy!)& Lowell muthafukken George, icing of the Feat & Lowell, and the delicious cherry that is Shakira’s rumpshaking. Fuck dinner, eat this dessert first!
And the other lists rock, too, esp. SpaghettiLee’s. Also, montysanto, Radiators used to play DC regularly- best fusion of zydeco/rock/folk/ soul that most everybody else never heard.
That is a mighty fine assortment of music.
What SirFoxbat #10 said, also too music itself might lend me to believe such: and then there is Key$ha to make me disbelieve again.

There was complete panic in the Sony boardroom on Thursday night, with a sudden inexplicable plummet in the number of Shakira video hits on YouTube. Things were back to normal the next day. Nobody knows why.
Glad to see the bottom didn’t fall out of the Shakira market.
“Three Shakiras on my desktop.” — jeebuz, man, that’s like a virtual orgy. The tissues are over there.
But they should definitely turn the power off in San Diego more often if it makes tbogg feel like blessing us with teh booty when it comes back on. Heck, they should give us remote control of that server in Yuma… it’d be flashing like an effin’ disco ball.
I think what she is able to do with it is the art part.
What “complete coverage” of 9/11 – and the political opportunists commemorating the event – will never mention. Congress abandoned first responders.
Shakira’s butt loop-d-loop apparently caused Notre Dame to lose!
Go Shakira! Hey ND, you suck!
Thanks for the Feat link. Does anyone know where you can get a dl of The Factory, Lowell’s group before Feat?
Ooh Litle Feat! For my money’s worth (and if I could shake my money-maker like that, I’d be running naked down Capital Avenue in front of the Rubicon!) it hasta be “Willing”
“Just give me weed, whites and wine . . .. . “
“Glad to see the bottom didn’t fall out of the Shakira market.”
Oh, now I have to go lie down for a while. Those cheeks don’t lie, that’s for sure.
