Shorter McMegan & Robin Hanson:
The danger of Steven Jobs speech at Stanford is that, if everyone followed his advice, finding an adequate barrista who can make a passable latte would be simply exhausting and then I would have so much less time to share my brilliance with the world.

Who’d collect my garbage?
-”Yeah, I didn’t get to be CEO. But I wake up happy most mornings, my kids are great, and my golf game gets better every year.”
That’s most people. –
No, Megan, it’s not most people. Most people don’t golf, either because it looks stupid or they can’t afford it. Geez! What world does this clown live in? (Rhetorical)
Hey, I give McMegan props for saying what she believes; that America’s promises are only meant for some people (preferably those with a certain pedigree or the right references) and the rest of us are meant to live humdrum lives in order to support the elect.
Megan, you do not write about economics. You write about your own damn self. Every single time.
Ah, yes, wouldn’t want too many successful, happy people out there. What’s the point of snobbery if there’s no one to be snobbish towards?
God, I hate McArdle. I’d spend 20 years working my way up to becoming publisher of the Atlantic just to fire her.
Whenever McMegan’s name comes up, so should this column.

I appreciate the background, which I never bothered to read before. (My excuse for reading it is that I just got in from a run and opened a beer.) Now I’m curious about the picture. Who’s the guy on the left? (“Alan Miller” is apparently his name.) And isn’t the other guy Chris Hayes, who’s supposed to be sort of vaguely kinda a bit lefty? What up wi dat?
Can’t they all just mine pink Himalayan salt to keep my prices down?
