Just like it has been a tough year for America, it has been an equally tough year for some of the bloggers whom we know (through the internets) and love (also through the internets). It seem like every time you turn around a blogger is having a fundraiser in an effort to stave off losing their home or to pay for a medical emergency that would normally be taken care of IF WE HAD UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. But none of those are sadder that the case of StrangeAppar8us over at Rumproast who suffered a traumatic brain injury that has left him not only with a long road to recovery, but also blind.
If you can help out, please do. Maybe put off buying that $1500 food processor until after the holidays.
Then everyone wins…

Done.
(Second link is broken, TBogg).
TBogg, thank you so much.
Oh, my god. How terrible. Isn’t it obvious to the dumbest of us that universal health care, preferably single payer, would solve 80% of this country’s damn problems?
I’m extra frustrated because I’m in no position to contribute. If I had one of them fancy food whatchamathingamajig’s I’d have sold it by now.
There is a prospect of a few days work for me next week; if it continues, I’ll try to wring out a few bucks for the poor man.
Perhaps his friends could hold a bake sale./s
So true. Universal health care would make a huge difference, from helping people like our beloved StrangeAppar8us to letting people take that risk to start a new business without worrying if they can afford to insure themselves (or risk not doing so). My Canadian friends have so much lower stress on that issue, and think our system is insane and inhumane.
People, please go have a look at Rumproast, and if you can, help a bit.
Just a lowly loving-both-blogs lurker–here and at Rumproast–but I had to take some from my measly Xmas gift budget for that fine man w/mucho thanks for his way more than fine commentary.
Thanks for this, TBogg.
