Sensing that he losing out to Rick Scott as the most horrible fucking governor in the country, Wisconsin cheesedick Scott Walker is trying to kill off some of his lady constituents because…. he’s a cheesedick:
First he gutted worker’s rights, then slashed state education funding and dumbed-down sex ed. Next on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s hit list? Breast and cervical cancer screenings for women. Come January 1, Wisconsinites who rely on Planned Parenthood to access free cancer screenings may be out of luck.
The Wisconsin Well Woman Program is an 17-year-old state service created to ensure that women ages 45 to 64 who lack health insurance can access preventive health screenings. It is administered by the Department of Health Services and provides referrals and screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and multiple sclerosis at no cost. The state currently uses a number of contractors to coordinate and provide those services, including Planned Parenthood. But now, in a move that could leave many women in the state without access to the program, the Walker government is ending Planned Parenthood’s contract.
In four Wisconsin counties, Planned Parenthood is the only health care provider currently contracted as a coordinator for the cancer screenings. Coordinators evaluate women for eligibility, enroll them in the program, and then connect them to health care providers that can perform the exams. The coordinators also do community outreach, letting women know that there are options for preventative care even if they don’t have health insurance.
From Walker:
No reason for the decision was given, but the governor said, “There’s other providers throughout the state who have that. Planned Parenthood is not the sole provider of that. There are many clinics that are not as controversial as Planned Parenthood, and our goal was to make sure low-income women had access to those sorts of screenings from other providers around the state that don’t carry the controversy you get with Planned Parenthood.”
The poor ladies in Winnebago, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, and Outagamie counties should get down on their knees and thank Scott Walker for giving them the opportunity to travel to other nicer counties for their medical needs. Road trip! And by eliminating Planned Parenthood statewide from the pool of providers, Walker is making sure that all Wisconsin women between the ages of 45 and 64 won’t purchase impulse abortions while they’re standing in line at the checkout stand just because the clinic is running a promo (“Buy five abortions and your sixth one is free!“). That’s such a scam and if you lose your punch-card you have to start all over…
Also.

Wooooowwww. I had previously thought that there would be no challengers to Scott’s title run as “Biggest Asshole (Governor Division)” But now I see this plucky upstart giving him a run for his money.
Fixed.
Scottie made a promise to create 250,000 jobs in four years even though, you know, government can’t actually create jobs. Having absolutely no chance of accomplishing that, he set about weakening the opposition. To his surprise the opposition in Wisconsin, unlike in DC, reacted to being poked with a stick by biting back. Odds are he’ll be out of a job next year. But in the meantime, he’ll try to enact the remainder of the Wingnut Agenda, like killing Planned Parenthood. Which, to his surprise, only makes more people sign on to the recall. Asshole.
But please, don’t associate him with anything as tasty as cheese.
Kochfluffer is the preferred appellation.
“our goal was to make sure low-income women had access to those sorts of screenings from other providers around the state that don’t carry the controversy you get with Planned Parenthood.” Funny, I’d have thought a supposed free-market wanker like Walker would simply want to get the most bang for the tax payer’s buck. Since when is “lack of controversy” a metric to consider when spending health care dollars?
My sincere condolences to the entire state of Wisconsin for their time spent with this guy at the helm. In fairness, though, some of your lot must have voted for him — perhaps the cold, dark months ahead could be spent re-edumacating them about the qualities to look for in a leader: lack of self-inflicted pointless controversy might be one to start with.
well, this should result in a few hundred thousand more signatures on his recall petitions.
Even though there are plenty now.
His career is deader than Elvis.
I would say Thank Chuy I don’t live in Wisconsin – except I live in Arizona.
Time to move back to teh home place – Calgary iz looking very, g-damned good these days.
To complete today’s quinella, he also announced that lobbyists are one of the two groups (families being the other) now exempt from the new State Capitol pay for speech rules. didn’t want to inconvenience his masters, possibly. Rick Scott, eat your heart out.
Hey, I live in Florida (and work in Michigan…) and there’s no way this Walker punk is a bigger asshole than
Sick RottRick Scott, but he’s sure running a close second. Also, too we have no recall mechanism here, so we’re stuck with the scumbag. Recall Walker, Wisconsin so we Floridians can live vicariously through your upcoming victory for democracy.Just sayin.
So Scott Walker claims to be some kind of rough-hewn libertarian who doesn’t want the govt involved in anything with the following exceptions:
1. Govt shall invade and/or prevent women’s right to chose
2. Govt shall invade women’s health care and prevent women from obtaining adequate care and direct women as to where they *may* obtain health care
3. Govt shall prevent serf-citizens from having the right to collective bargaining
4. Govt shall prevent serf-citizens from exercising their First Amendement rights
…
I’m sure there’s more, but that’s a good initial list. Typical rightwingnuttified hypocritical fascism. Walker talks a good “game” about shrinking govt unless it’s about being a frickin’ Koch-paid fascist, who gets to jack-boot his shit all over anyone who doesn’t suck up to the 1%. PTOUI!
Suffrage???????? WHAT THE HELL?????
Seems history will repeat itself if some of those commenting a few posts back have anything to say about it….
Unsure what you’re asking. The First Amendment discusses freedom of speech and the right to assemble. I thought Walker was seeking to *charge* citizens for the right to assemble.
What am I missing?
FYI Dr.BDH, when I Goog’ed “Kochfluffer” it went to that santorum link….
Tut Tut, TBogg, Scott Walker doesn’t want to deny women of anything even closely resembling a health care plan that doesn’t put shareholder value first (Free Market – Fuck Yeah), but instead, only wishes to shift blame for the inconvenient “road trip” on pesky librulz and their “controversial” issues – like low-cost halth care and family-planning services.
Suffrage – ‘giving’ women the right to vote. In the United States, ca. 1920.
Entirely out of bounds. Women? Voting? Unconscionable. Not possible!
Eh? No doubt Walker subscribes to something that I suspect the Duggar clan (of a previous) post do, which is that men are at the top of the pyramid (eg, “next to God”) and women are subjugated to men and must obey… hence, yes, no doubt suffrage should be banned, but not jest fer the wimminz, if ya know what I mean.
He should’ve read the fine print in his subscription. He may be in that manly pyramid, but not on top….
yeah, but that walker kochsucker gets paid the big buck$$ get down on his knees & genuflect (so to speak) to the Kochs… which is probably a heck of a lot more than what Mrs. Duggar can say (albeit, it seems to me that Mrs. Duggar would do herself, her family, and the planet a HUGE favor if she only got on her knees before her lunk of a husband, if you catch my drift).
Now now TBogg, Walker doesn’t want to kill women. He wants to make their lives as hellish as he possibly can. Then when they die because of their hellish lives he’ll say their lifestyle choices killed them.
The government can and does create tens of thousands of jobs. It’s usually always conservatives who claim this never happens, but I just thought I’d set the record straight.
Not only does government fund many projects that directly create jobs, it subsidizes corporations. Some of this funding is, no doubt, egregious and shameful and disgusting, but government does a hell of a lot of good, too.
I could very well be wrong because, unlike realitychecker, I frequently am, but my $ is on Dr. BDH was, you know, snarking….
I’ll assume you didn’t turn your snark meter to “stun” before you read my post.
I’m a doctor. A large portion of my income comes from the Federal government. I might not have a job if it weren’t for the Federal government.
Nor would my conservatard partners, Ron fucking Paul and his idiot son, and the blessed troops who will come home this week to surprise their lovely sons and daughters on local TV.
The “job creators” (trademark Republican asswipes) aren’t going to create any jobs until there are enough consumers to make it profitable. If the Democrats we sent to Washington, starting with President Hopey-Changey, can’t throat-fuck the Republicans into getting the government off the shitter and MAKING JOBS, the country is doomed.
In such degenerate days, when you literally cannot tell if a given headline is from the Onion or Fox, these little misunderstanderings are to be expectorated.
Poe’s Law.
In today’s modern times, just as ubiquitous as the Law of Gravity.
When is this Koch-bankrolled scumbag going to be recalled? How long can it go on? Is Wisconsin nuts? GET RID OF THIS ASSHOLE. HE IS A WALKING TURD.
I responded to “Scottie made a promise to create 250,000 jobs in four years even though, you know, government can’t actually create jobs“. Doesn’t seem like snark to me.

Just to name a few….has this country ever seen a group of asshole Governors like this?? I can’t remember anything like it. All because the guy in the White House a dusky hue and has an unusual name. Americans have got to be the dumbest, most politically incompetent people in the world. And I’ll go along with Charles Pierce: we can thank Nixon for starting this..the politics of resentment..fueled by Reagan and perfected by Rove. And what does it get us? Pathetic governance and a Republican ‘line up’ that includes a guy who doesn’t know China has the bomb but wants to be Defense Secretary. How low do we have to sink? And in the meantime, women are getting screwed, and not in a fun way, all over this country because the states are being run by hillbillies and charletans. God! This is so frustrating.
Thank God for the people of Wisconsin. Kick this asswipe to the curb. The most dangerous however, for my money, is Snyder. That dictatorship law they’ve got is unbelievable. Where are the courts? And I hope even the Scalia court (Roberts doesn’t run nuttin’ without Anton’s blessing) thinks locking up Americans by the military for any damn reason that pops into their head might not be the best law passed in a long while.
Okay..had my rant.
Lovely Wisconsin — the new Mississippi of the North!
But please, don’t associate him with anything as tasty as cheese.
Welllll… you know what dick cheese isn’t, right?
May his fomunda cheese quat into undetected cancer of the glans!
Actually, I heard Walker wanted to stand them against a wall and shoot them.
“Dead Political Career Walking !”
see ya schmuck
I hate to break up a party but while Walker is pond scum cancer screening is stupid. The reason is simple mathematics. Imagine you’re looking for a disease that will be found in 1/1000 people, which is normal, particularly with annual screening where hopefully you only find a fatal condition once in someone’s life. And let’s say the test is 99% accurate, which is generous. This means that if you screen 1000 people you will find one true positive and 10 false positives. Some of the 10 false positives may just suffer biopsies and radiation before being discovered but some may continue to be treated as true positives (i.e. people who have the disease) leading to radiation, chemotherapy and surgery for people who do not have a fatal condition. If the left was truly progressive they would be opposing the industrial forces that are imposing more and more screening on us, making billions of dollars in screening and billions more in false treatment, rather than encouraging industrial medicine to make more profits. I’m Canadian and think that health care should be free for everyone, but what we have is medical treatment with massive profits and no improvement in health.
This guy looks and acts like too many first cousins married in his family.
And when they find a precancerous condition on a pap smear, that requires a follow-up several months later and sometimes, you know, it’s positive for cancer. Nice to know that before you die of cervical cancer when it could so easily been screened and treated.
Scott Walker is both evil himself and symbolizes all that is evil in this country’s politics. I am beginning to think that a recall of Scott Walker will be a bigger victory for the people than even all the successes of OWS. And it won’t be a victory that can be annulled by cops running amok.
Are you trolling or do you really believe that women only use Planned Parenthood for cancer screening? Please fill us in on all the other options low income women have for preventative health care and health screenings in the 4 counties mentioned in the thread article for Wisconsin.
Congratulations on living in Canada and having government sponsored health care. You go to an ER or a physician or a dentist for free. Poor women in Wisconsin don’t!. They have to pass thru other way stations first. The “industrialization of medicine” is hardly their first concern. And therefore it’s you that doesn’t get it.
And the computer says “troll”
I got nothin.
Walker is a turd.
Why is this news?
We know this.
He’s a turd.
*frrrrpppp*
GO ahead, pull my finger.
This might be one of the dumbest arguments that I have ever read that wasn’t on Megan McArdle’s comment stream.
These people are the pawns being pushed by people like the Kochs, Pete Peterson, and the FIRE sector, with ALEC marching orders (well, pawns must be able to march, if they are soldiers, although that seems a bit grand for pawns). This is organized class war, with years of planning and buying politicians. The brazenness is new, on the state= local level, and bespeaks an endgame thrust that we got first at the national level by the installation of Bush by the FL + SCOTUS scheme. That is when democracy was stabbed in the back. Now it is getting slashed face-to-face.
I live in WI, and am a petition circulator, of course. I know a young woman who found out her cervix is compromised by Planned Parenthood reproductive care, just this fall. She is poor, has never voted, and I am trying to get her and her friends to care. This is so sad. I must say, the intimidation, obscenity, and vandalism (I have experienced all three) in the recall is all coming from one side, the republicans, if that’s what you call them. This really is good vs. evil, once you get past the ignorance and Schadenfreude of Walker backers and come to the 1%ers behind this asshole careerist who couldn’t get through college. He is the antithesis of the Wisconsin Idea, and we who grew up here know that best. And, let’s all fight these ALEC scum everywhere!
State Senator Pam Galloway, also being recalled, is right there on board with this plan. She is a BREAST CANCER SURGEON. Even for a Republican, that’s low. Is she trying to create more patients for when she gets booted out of office? Sickening!
