It’s a nice day here today, 72 with no clouds, so I am faced with the choice between picking through the flotsam and jetsam of Republican utterances in Iowa or I can go to the zoo (or ‘World Famous San Diego Zoo’ as all people in San Diego are contractually required to call it when speaking to Outlanders).
So, yeah, you’re on your own.
Maybe Walter Russell Mead will explain it all to you using his patented “intelligent filtering process” which I think is the same process used to make craft beer that tastes like warmed-over piss.

Still trying to figure out how TBogg ends up giving me an ad for Catholic matchmaking. 0/2.
Enjoy the “zoo”.
The WFSDZ? On a public holiday? What could possibly go wrong?
(Please submit answers in order of predicted chronology.)
G-no, g-no, g-no, I’m a g-nu!
Speaking of Iowa, amazing how the MSM over the last couple of days have collectively gone Full Felch on Santorum.
Frothy coverage.
My sister got into the WFSDZ’s polar bear enclosure, when she was about 6, and nearly got et. ‘Course, she wuz a Zonie, so I suppose it didn’t count.
Enjoy teh zoo!
Thanks for sparring us the last will and utterances of that group of clowns. Love the WFSDZ.
Why the photo of Mitch McConnell munching on eucalyptus leaves? Has he intiated an effort to rename it “Freedom Grass”?
Enjoy the zoo. I’m jealous. The temperature here in Philly is going down faster than a Newt Gingrich intern.
It’s 75 in the shade here in the San Joaquin Valley, it might go to 80, Thor willing :-)
“and the zookeeper is very fond of rum.”
If Thor changes his mind, you’ll get tule fog tomorrow.
There’s a mild Santa Ana in the San Fernando valley (‘mild’ meaning it hasn’t gotten to more than about 15mph).
It was a sweltering 42F here on the 45th parallel…not a snowflake to be seen. No climate change happening here, nosiree.
This intelligent filtering system – I suppose, if it works well, only the disruptors will have their comments hidden, correct?
That’s not Mitch, that’s a drop bear!
Mitch is hanging out in the three-toed sloth enclosure. The House TP faction are in the “poo-flinging” corner of the Monkey House.
I love the WFSDZ. Been going since I was knee-high to the elephants, although since I’ve moved East it’s now a vacation destination.
You know who else loves zoos?
No, not that guy, but close enough.
I am a former Canadian sailor. Sailor that is; not Canadian. I am still one of those.
I have “lived” at the world famous San Diego Zoo. I love the place. The orangutan enclosure held my attention for, well, minutes. I loved it when they flung feces to express their love for their fellow primates.
It is my hope that you took the boys with you. Bassets love zoos.
I know this because, as a fellow basset subjugant (my word. sorry.) I recognized that they had an affinity for anything upright. Orangutans were their favourite.
Hoping you, Mrs. TBogg, The TLCasey and the lads had a great day.
Cheers OM

As a practicing Zoologist, I have to tell you you’re quite wrong on that one. Doggy-style all the way, baby!
Hope you had a good time at the zoo (“We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo! How about you, you, you?”) and Happy Pagan Solstice Festival of Light and Rebirth of the Year season! Best to the Bassets and to the rest of the gang. As soon as the Job-Creators(TM) create some jobs for my immediate family, we’ll be sending some ‘Hip-support’ funding your way. Well, all right, hopefully we’ll be able to do something this year before the Mayans return from space and destroy the Earth.
I’ve heard the zoo there in SD is pretty nice. Can you bring your dog to the zoo with you? Are there recharging stations for the e-bike users? Can you walk free with monkeys and penguins?

Enjoy.
