I was digging through some old pictures and I found this one of Wembley and mrs TBogg taken about a week after she brought him home. He’s about twelve weeks at this time.
He still does this, only now he weighs about 55 pounds.

oooooh, squeeeee – that’s some adorable puppy nose…even if it’s kind of a biiig puppy nose.
I remember this picture, I think. It is wonderful. The picture of love.
Thank you, TBogg. Only bassetts on a Thursday could cure the clown car debate blues.
I am up to my eyeballs in wingnuts today in real life, and needed some bassety goodness.
A Basset Cozy definitely fits the bill. Shall we call this a WembWow?
(Are you thinking of the shamwow that the guy who rescued the injured dog from his kayak used to dry off the doggie once he got on board?)
Best puppy nose on teh interwebs. Lurv it, thx for sharing with the rest of us.
Mah puppy found a nice, big chunk of a semi-frozen deer carcass on a hike today — amazing how that can bring out the wolf in even the most Barbie-esque Golden Retriever…
I don’t know that story but I was thinking of those blankets.
So, he’s always had that ridiculous extra set of eyes? The light brown ones that are there even when his other ones are closed? This picture (new to me) explains all!
And he’s beautiful (and I am confident Mrs. T is, too — I appreciate your discrete way of including her.)
Well, I meant “discreet” — though in fact “discrete” makes for “discreet” here.
You don’t know this almost incredible story?
It’s happy and terrible at the same time, and it’s on video. The shamwow part comes maybe halfway through. Click to read the kayaker’s updates, where he answers questions like “how come there was a camera running?” And “how come you had a shamwow?”
Heart-wrenching story. Thanks for sharing that.
and Mrs TBogg doesn’t need resuscitation afterwards? Iron Neck Lady.
Yeah, it’s feel good at first – when I first saw it, the kayaker didn’t know how the dog got there, (isn’t it incredible watching him appear in the water?), so it was pretty much feel-good dog rescue story. The rest…so sad.
All of which says to all us animal lovers – appreciate your doggies and kittehs and every day you have alive.
Including of course, the Bogg fambly doggiez, who are virtually loved by all of us who come here for our weekly Wembley and Fenway fix.
Puppypuppypuppyyy! A great illustration of what animals and humans can do for each other, that photo. Thanks, Wembley’s dad.
I have a not-insubstantial cat who does a similar thing to/with/on me. My chestal area used to be somewhat perkier in former days. Sure, some of this is due to Onrushing Time – but not all of it!
