So last night I was still in the throes of transferring over a shit-load of music from my computer to my wife’s laptop so she could reload her iPod. Whilst doing so I came across Whitesnake’s Here I Go Again which I proceeded to play, suggesting to mrs TBogg that she might want to writhe around on the bed like Tawny Kitaen on a car hood. She demurred, if ‘demurred’ means: “Yeah. Right, Sparky….”. Finding this all too amusing I twitter-twatted about it on my Twitter machine last night only to discover this afternoon that Tawny Kitaen has now become a twittertwatter follower.
Added bonus: mrs TBogg went to high school with Tawney Kitaen.
Consider yourself more informed than when you got here.
And now that list thing:

Although he gots no Shakirass, it must be admitted. (Though the mere thought of an animated gif of KLo’s sweet sweet booty makes me, um, nauseous and ROFL simultaneously.)
C’mon, TBogg. The poor boy thinks you’re ignoring him lately. Have a go. :)
I am disturbed by how many tracks I own from the This is Mullet Rock CD.
Ultravox’s Vienna is also a favorite of mine, though a classical-music-tinged synthesiser tune named after a European city has no mullet-culture connection whatsoever.
And I have family friends who went to school with Mr Coverdale.
(The YouTubes provide a demo of his from 1970, back before he joined Deep Purple. I have no love for Poodle-Hair rock, but the bugger can sing.)
This just puts me in mind of “1985″ by Bowling for Soup*:
She was gonna be an actress
She was gonna be a star
She was gonna shake her ass
On the hood of Whitesnake’s car…
*Actually, the first time I ever heard the song was as an encore at a Richard Thompson “1000 Years of Popular Music” concert, and that is still the best version of this song I’ve ever heard.
Okay, don’t have my i-pod handy and I can’t figure out how to randomize the songs on my i-Pad (sad, I know), so I’ll just go with the first ten in alphabetical order:
A bicyclette – Yves Montand
Abundance – Coyote Oldman
Acadian Driftwood – The Band
Accidents Will Happen – Elvis Costello
Across the Universe – The Beatles
Adagietto, Symphony Number 5 – Mahler
Adia – Sarah McLachlan
Admiral Fell Promises – Sun Kil Moon
After All – Mojave 3
Against the Wind – Bob Seger
And I’ll randomly go to the first F since today is Friday for the bonus track:
A Face in the Crowd – Tom Petty
Ha! I just last week watched Tawny in “Witchboard”, possessed by the spirit of a serial killer, dressed in a three piece man’s suit, throwing a mulleted goof out a second story window. Hawt!
I’ve always had a fondness for “Vienna” by Ultravox as well, ever since I saw its odd video at about 2am back in the day… Synth pop under restraint, and then an explosion on the chorus.
I got nothing for the random ten, but I did see TBogg’s tweet yesterday. The consequences are…hilarious.
And smilingdog…I feel ya, man. I keep thinking that iPod my ex gave me would be really nice to put all my faves onto, but…damnit, that takes work, and time! Even when I put stuff on it, I forget to take it with me anywhere, so it’s sort of a waste.
Aw heck, just for once, lemme see what is on it (you’ll all laugh)
Oh, yeah, there’s a library book on there…better listen to it before it disappears (you don’t have to return downloaded audiobooks, they return themselves!)
So: Guinevere, Crosby Stills and Nash
Pachelbel Canon
Dark Star, CSN
Carinhoso, Paquito d’Rivera
Whiskey in the Jar, The Clancy Brothers
The Sands of Mexico, the Chieftains
Hmm. I thought there was a lot more stuff loaded. I need to look into this.
Jeez, I learn so much here!
Tawny married local baseball star Chuck Finley, who is great friends with one of my friends here in Louisiana . He’s retired and raising their kids. Has anyone seen the Burn Notice episode that shows how Sam Axe gets his fake name, Chuck Finley?

Oi, oi — and I`m not even Jewish. So, she`s the female, and I can tell because she has bigger hair than the others? OK. I got it, I think.
Tawny Kitaen and the divine Mrs. Tbogg attended the same high school? What I wouldn’t have given to attend that school, instead of a Jesuit school with faculty from the Psycho Brothers for Christ. Did Shakira attend there as an exchange student?

29 Palms – Robert Plant
