As this case developed, I asked myself…why is the Right always wrong about their positions? Then I realized, it’s because our side always weighs in first with a position – and then they necessarily take the opposite side. As the Zimmerman/Martin case began to generate social media buzz, it was our side that understood the basic dynamics of the case details,the psychological profile of the victim/killer, how the FL SYG law contributed to the injustice, and watched as the PD further miscarried on their responsibility to do this case justice. We understood the social injustice done to Martin as an attack on all of us and we moved forcefully on it.

So, the Reactionary Right didn’t really have a choice on which side to support. They had to go with the gun toting fantasist – the role playing psuedo cop with the Republican/NRA SYG law on his side. Once they got their script, they jumped in. Smear the victim, support the injustice, start feeding the racist instincts …whatever it takes to “win” the narrative. What you end up with is a Reihl Twitchy joke attempt at journalism. It’s not truth they want, it’s an ideological win.

Sadly, the local PD has done everything to assure that the procedures weren’t followed and evidence wasn’t gathered. So there’s a chance that Zimmerman, with no witnesses to support Martin case, will walk. A horrible miscarriage of justice if it occurs. While this case may be lost, I hope the results will wake up a significant majority of sane Americans to begin taking back this country at every level and start dismantling the Koch-NRA-ALEC axis of GOP evil that’s destroying the essence of this country.

Seriously OT, but did anyone catch Tim Tebow’s Intro press conference with the Jets? I’m seriously wondering if he might be gay. Never noticed this in previous interviews, but it just seemed out there in this one. Personally, I could care less if he is – I still don’t think he’s much of a QB, but I can imagine it would be a BFD to the anti-gay Christianists who have made him a poster boy for their cause.

Some people got some explaining to do. There was an investigation and one investigator wanted to “Book ‘em Danno”. That is, charge Zimmerman with Man Slaughter-or boy slaughter.

The lead homicide investigator in the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin recommended that neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter the night of the shooting, multiple sources told ABC News.

But Sanford, Fla., Investigator Chris Serino was instructed to not press charges against Zimmerman because the state attorney’s office headed by Norman Wolfinger determined there wasn’t enough evidence to lead to a conviction, the sources told ABC News.

I was struck by the crazed baggers protesting at the Supreme Court yesterday. Why do middle aged white guys get all worked up about a healthcare mandate? Everyone in the US knows that taxes go to pay for a variety of things, not all of which is supported by individual taxpayers. So why do these clowns get so excited about a small but important change in healthcare?

Its as you describe. Ill go one step further. The opposition, especially the 27%ers, HATE us with the heat of a thousand suns. They oppose any position we hold, just for the sheer joy of fucking with us. They have been taught to never give an inch, never lose an argument based on reality, never agree with a liberal. Period.

It soulds illogical, and it is, but it is the truth. They hate us much more than we understand, hence, they will oppose literally all positions we take.

That’s the part I don’t get. How can the SA determine there wasn’t enough evidence, before there was even an investigation? A guy is caught literally holding a smoking gun, and he’s not arrested because the state attorney’s office says no? I don’t buy it.

Well, the latest buzz concerns the Sanford FL police video – obtained by ABC News – taken of George Zimmerman when he was taken into police custody, just after he had killed Trayvon Martin. Video is here (1:27, following the usual annoying 15s or 30s ad), and accompanying story is here.

All that talk of a bloodied Zimmerman sure doesn’t get any support from this video; the back of his head looks quite blood-free. Zimmerman’s allies in the commentariat are already fabricating explanations and excuses (e.g., ‘the cops usually clean up someone once they cuff him’… stuff like that). Perhaps Joe Oliver, Mr. Zimmerman’s 6-yr acquaintance – and now his newest bestest TV buddy (14:50) – will have an awesome explanation for this latest revelation.

A chit was called in. Zimmerman’s dad was a retired judge…bet he’s got all kinds of favors/IOUs saved in the bank over the years, just for such a moment. Don’t really think he’s helping son’s case, though. Claims Trayvon was not using his phone at the time logs show him talking with his GF. And why drag POTUS into the case? Seems like a very strange thing to call Obama a “hater” – seems like a very out-of-place political point being made.
