Screw it. It’s a holiday weekend, and I’m outta here.
Go here for handy tips from National Review’s John Derbyshire on How To Live With Your Fear Of A Blah Planet.
Sample:
(10a) Avoid concentrations of blacks not all known to you personally.
(10b) Stay out of heavily black neighborhoods.
(10c) If planning a trip to a beach or amusement park at some date, find out whether it is likely to be swamped with blacks on that date (neglect of that one got me the closest I have ever gotten to death by gunshot).
(10d) Do not attend events likely to draw a lot of blacks.
(10e) If you are at some public event at which the number of blacks suddenly swells, leave as quickly as possible.
So, I guess Mrs. Derbyshire’s plans for an evening at The Apollo are on hold for the foreseeable future.
You should be reading The American Way of Eating.
Looking forward to going out to see The Raid: Redemption and then staying in to watch Attack The Block this weekend because, you know, it’s a holy weekend and shit and I don’t have tickets to see The Second Coming.
Creed is going back on tour starting next week and I think we can all agree to blame Obama for that.
Now for your Jesus Weekend Holiday Ten:
Trigger Cut – Pavement
Sleeping On The Roof – The Flaming Lips
Clap For The Killers – Street Sweeper Social Club
Here Comes The Sky – Crocodiles
Breaking The Yearlings – Shearwater
Divided Sky – Phish (Live 10/31/2010 Atlantic City)
For The Turnstiles – Neil Young
The Immortal Dog & Pony Show – For Squirrels
Ever Since WWI – Team Sleep
To Die In LA – West Indian Girl
and Solar Sister – The Posies
And now here is the new Garbage
Shirley Manson still rules.

Hey, replace “blacks” with “Creed” up there and you’ve got yourself a good set of rules!
I hadn’t heard of ‘Takimag’ before, but a little Wiki magic tells me it’s meant to “shake up the stodgy world of so-called ‘conservative’ opinion…” and that “We take our politics like we take life—lightly.” Can’t you just smell the lightheartedness in that Derb piece? Oh, wait, that’s fear-piss? Dang, I must be losing my sense of smell.
But wait, there’s more: Other contributors include Pat Buchanan, Michelle Malkin, Steve Sailer, and Mises Institute adjunct Paul Gottfried. I’m thinking these guys don’t really know what “shake up” means.
Anyhow, enough with those boobs. Time for some happy music!

Fortunately my iTunes seems to have been infiltrated by some blah bands:

Love me some Shirley Manson. Don’t hold it against Garbage for recording the theme song to the worst Bond movie ever. Not their fault. Here’s my 10 from Johannesburg, South Africa for everyone. Happy Easter and have a great week.
