First as tragedy, then as farce

If one is to believe the slow drip of rumors, Santorum is reportedly heading for the exit after having been squeezed out by Mitt Romney:

There is a “very good likelihood” Rick Santorum is dropping out, according to an aide to the campaign. Chris Godbey, who ran Santorum’s Mississippi campaign, said that the campaign had scheduled a call with supporters and that he was expecting confirmation of Santorum’s intentions soon.

Santorum is expected to speak in Gettysburg, PA momentarily.

Expect a slow dribble of unenthusiastic Republicans resignedly endorsing Mitt Romney now because it doesn’t really matter anyway, we’re all gonna die eventually, so, like, whatever….
