I hear you and, while I’ve posted a lot of what could be called bullying on this issue, I guess I see it this way:

For years, it has seemed, a lot of the progressive/liberal element mostly took what could be termed “the high road,” and either just ignored the bullies, like Rush Limbaugh and his dittoheaded minions like Tierney, OR we may have responded but usually in an understated and respectful way.

Frankly, it seems to me that doesn’t work. These bullies just keep getting louder, more aggressive and seemingly prouder of their racism, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, anti-whatever to the point where they’re pretty much out of control.

So maybe this has tread somewhat into the “out of control” territory, too, but OTOH, these bullies simply don’t respond to polite calls for better behavior. They just don’t. In fact, being reasonable and pleasant is cause for them to become more nasty and aggressive.

To use an analogy, if you remember the “bonanza” television series, you’ll know that many episodes centered on a man wrongly accused of a crime, typically murder, and duly jailed by Sheriff Roy Coffey in anticipation of the the arrival of the territorial circuit court judge for trial.
