Isn’t this a “homage” to Wilfred, the Aussie sitcom that got a remake by FX with Elijah Wood in the non-dog role? (David Zuckerman, the original showrunner of Family Guy, produced the US version.)

Damn, I’d forgotten about that. Haven’t seen karenb since, and I miss her. Especially after being told that I – I personally – am an example of all that’s wrong with this country, a sentiment with which I’m sure corporalwaldo would agree. It’s a burden, but chin up, must carry on.
