Jason Chaffetz (R-BYU) thinks you should mind your own fucking business when it comes to how much money Mitt Romney has because Mitt Romney is A VERY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN who pays the minimum amount of taxes that he has to (depending upon whichever foreign locale he stashes his monies) and also Mitt does a lot of charitable giving (MORMON CULTZ CHURCH) and that is all you need to know. So there.:
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) argued Tuesday that Mitt Romney shouldn’t release additional tax records.
“No, no I don’t,” Chaffetz said on CNN’s “Starting Point,” when asked if he thought the presumptive GOP nominee should make available the records available.
“He’s been very successful. He’s released everything that’s required to release including paying more than sixteen percent of his income to charitable giving. I think it’s diversionary tactic,” Chaffetz said.
The Utah congressman and Romney supporter argued that most people “don’t care” about whether the former Massachusetts governor releases more of his tax information.
“Gov. Romney’s been very successful. Get over it. It’s a reality. He’s been successful. That’s the kind of guy I want president,” he said.
Personally, I hope the Romney campaign is using the same standards for vetting his VP candidates. As John McCain demonstrated, hilarious hijinks will follow…

Say, I’ll bet that Joe Miller fella is available.
I wonder if, on Romney’s taxes, he has to claim that 747 that Chris Matthews says can land on his shoulders.
Jason has things to say!
How’s he talk with his mouth full?
It’s fucking magic.
I’m wondering if the gop base is going to stage a coup at the convention and try to put in another candidate. After, you know, learning more about him and having all their fears not just realized but seeing that it’s even worse than that ’cause they’re all too poor and uneducated to understand how things work and had no clue as to how lowdown and sneaky a rat bastard Romney could be. Also wondering how many rich guys are facepalming as they start worrying that there little dodges are coming to light.(100 mil IRAs are my friend and worth more than people, dontcha know?)
Wasn’t Chaffetz a placekicker for BYU? Somebody should remind him that nobody on the team gives a rat’s ass what the kicker has to say.
It’s really remarkable watching Republicans who really don’t like their candidate very much trying to defend the indefensible. And, at least on the score of Mitt’s foreign cash stashes, the only defense they have is, “Shut up, is why!”
Why does nobody ever point out that MITT STOLE Money from the olympic funds and gave it to his corrupt children and religious whackjobs.
Following in McCain’s footstumps, Milt should consult Bill Kristol’s “coffee table book” for his veep choice. The list is partially divulged in this short clip, wherein a Mr. “Pinskey” plays Kristol with remarkable pup-tent-pandemonium reserve:

I can’t wait for marcos to show up and explain how Obama is just as bad.
Didn’t we kind of go through the same thing with GW Bush with him running businesses into the ground, which made ton$ of money for GW Bush & his pals & screw the serfs who were too stupid to work for those companies? The dog only knows how much do-si-do the Bush Crime Syndicate has salted away in various “havens.”
Nascar ball-scratchers were dutifully propogandized to believe that it’d be way kewl to drink a beer with W, so shut up & vote for him! Nevermind the factual reality that W would run miles away from the chumps before he’d take a leak on ‘em much less bend an elbow with ‘em.
Someone somewhere – clearly not Chaffee who’s a dooofus – is gonna hafta come up with some “hook” for why the Tea Partiers should rally ’round Willard. It’ll be anyone guess what they can come up with, though, as drinking decaf Tab with Mittens just doesn’t have quite the same, uh, cachet.
A republican that steals? C’mon, people expect that. If you don’t have pictures of him melting guns down to sell to give money to starving orphans in Kenya then it’s all one big Meh.
Steal a little and they throw you in jail
Steal a lot and they make you king

But Jason, anyone who can read the “Intertubes” already knows you’re the sort of guy who will change your religion and your political affiliation if it will get you an extra buck–so your street cred is sorta negligible right now.
The rest of the “little people” who file their 1040 and their 1040-EZ forms every year know that the IRS is scrutinizing every line of their returns because it can be done by computer. But people like Romney usually get away with quite a bit because the IRS doesn’t have the manpower to scrutinize all of those “accessory forms” filed by the rich, and they don’t have the attorneys to fight financial institutions who make their reputations finding newer and better loopholes for yacht & private jet owners. So, yeah, we’d like to see the foreign banks and/or wholly owned subsidiaries in other countries where Mittens has stashed his cash. And if you don’t mind, we’d like a close look at his capital gains/loss sheets. If, within the past 6 months or so he sold a lot of stock, or bought a lot of stock, we’d like to know what he knew that we didn’t know.
A post like this just screams for a link, if possible–pretty please?
Because
IOKIYAAR
Looks like Jason is going with the ‘don’t knock anyone else’s hustle, ’cause you might be pulling that scam, yourself, someday!’ schtick.
Fucking meatheads, the lot of them.
He’s too busy writing screeds about how the left is dead and populism will win the day on the old thread.
Good.
Meanwhile, is Chaffetz auditioning for the role of VP? Because he seems to be overacting just a wee bit.
He’s got three strikes against him: (1) He can’t keep his mouth shut, (2) he can’t play the piano at state functions, and (3) he can’t walk in Jimmy Choos.
“Chaffetz grew up a Democrat. His father had previously been married to Michael Dukakis’ wife, Kitty, and his half-brother is former actor John Dukakis.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Chaffetz
This is one weird ass world.
What took ya?
as for that 16% charity, the Mormons demand a 10% ante just to stay in the club.
Soon, one hopes, this
The Republicans! The Republicans! AHHH, The Republicans!
By gosh I think he’s got it!
Since then, he’s gone “wide right.”
Aside to Mr. Chafetz: No one older than 12 should ever use “get over it” as an argument.
Show us your papers, Mitt!!!! Show us all your IRS papers!!!!
Don’t forget to add, “cause the numbers can’t legally add up to what you’re claiming they do!”
It’s not about invading Romney’s privacy, it’s about questioning his math skills.
I work for a fundie in a very conservative part of a conservative state and you know what? Romney is almost universally considered an entitled, arrogant asshole. The Republicans who would usually by now be browbeating me about how wonderful the Republican candidate is are all silent and when you do get one of them to talk, it’s about voting against Obama, not for Willard. If Obama doesn’t say and do a whole lot of extremely popular things between now and the election, (purely from a political acumen standpoint), he doesn’t deserve to win. I think he’s figured out that his base is pissed. It might turn out to be too little, too late because it’s going to take a whole mess o’ bones to placate this fucking retard.
I have to agree with you Margaret, Obama is truly a failure at ‘placating retards’.
What an asshole!!
It’s not the math skills so much. What he’s probably trying to hide are the assumptions that were made.
For exmaple
If memory serves back in the day when Milkin was running his junk bond empire, his accountants projected something on the order of a 15% GDP growth rate for the foreseeable future on a LBO. Then declared that the pension account was over-funded and liqudated the account based on those assumptions.
Maybe Rafalca was deducted as a Medical Expense.
I’d still like to see the math on his IRA.
I won’t be satisfied until Mittens releases his long-form birth certificate. And not a fake one, like that Obummer did!
Gentlemen, let the vettening commence.
Do Mormons keep records of how many people get converted by the white shirt squad? Supposedly Willard was doing that, (though he really would have rather gone), instead of serving in Vietnam. I want to see those records… Was he doing missionary work or was he more into practicing the missionary position while he was in France?
Can we have a Veddering instead?
Me too. He’s 65 y’rs old so he gets to kick in the extra the “Catch-up” amount so that helps.
He is on record as stating that Corporations are people too. Which by the way is the only position he hasn’t Flip Flopped on.
Then all he has to do is incorporate himself about 250 times and Voila!
Thread Hijacking Grade: D-
Gross preposition overuse compounded by
Stockholmone-trick-pony syndrome…“Windowless” Willard.
They don’t have any windows in the church he goes to so why should Willard open a window on his tax returns or any other aspect of his life.
You know who else was really successful and wanted the world to just get over it? That’s right, Hitl…ah, fuck it.
Did Thurston’s position on abortion make its last reversal once the last of his sons was married and the risk of paternity suits dropped to an acceptable level?
What are the rules here? Bashing Catholicism is bad, because JFK; but bashing Mormonism is good, because Romney?
A short primer from TBogg on which bigotry is in vogue this election year would be helpful.
No. Bashing Romney is good because, well, Romney.
I’m pretty sure that I just saw somewhere that the Mormon church spends about 0.7% of it’s donations for charity. How generous of them!
What really gets me about Mitt is this; what kind of person has a famously successful father and concludes that his father’s biggest flaw was having too much integrity?
Fucking political campaigns. How do they work?
Well, you start by having a candidate who is not a rich Wall Street asshole.
JFK – transubstantiation.
Romney – magic underpants, star gods and shit.
You gotta a problem with that?
Personally, I’m a equal-opportunity basher of religion and its various flavors of Magic Invisible Sky Daddies and all the tribal rituals they’ve come up with over the centuries to show that there’s a real difference between “us” and “them.”
Obviously you’ve are unfamiliar with my opinion of the Rome office for NAMBLA.
I know people in Mittens’ old congregation here in MA. They thought he was an ass as well. There’s a story there about his handling of one of the teenagers he was supposed to mentor and an incident involving abortion (http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/2012/02/mitt-romney-201202) that might be of interest to some voters.
I’d like some deeper discussion of the Mormon White Horse prophecy and their reputed practice of lying for the Lord. Mittens has also been personally involved in the despicable habit of post-mortem baptism for Jews and others.
There’s a lot that’s good about individual Mormons and Mormonism but there are also a lot of questionable practices which should be part of the political discussion.
Glad to see Mittens’ excessive donations to his local Pioneer Scientology tabernacle put him in a league with Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates. Or so Chaffetz would have us believe. Nice try, Champ.
In other news, are you ready for some more Bush, the kind that wrecked the country?
Swiss accounts, polygamy, and magic underpants do not a President make. Romney hates gays. He rudely blew off an MS patient in a wheelchair who enquired after medical marijuana. This man has something missing in his makeup. There are way too many flaws in his character. Accusing another of poor leadership does not make a leader in any way. The Mormon cult is not Christian. Romney grew up with the belief that blacks are the devil incarnate. His behavior shows he still believes that. He hasn’t the capacity to be President of all the people. Like Bush, he would be President of some of the people. Nope.
Sorry, that was Roger Simon of Politico. Not that Matthews isn’t upset that he didn’t say it first.
Are you talking about
(MORMON CULTZ CHURCH) ?
One of the “rules” here is to understand when T is speaking in his own voice for his own account and when he is speaking in the voice of the person(s) or attitudes he’s mocking.
I myself always assume that any egregiously misspelled, ALL-CAPS outburst is coming from an avatar of ignorance and hysteria.
