Slow down, you move too fast
As you have probably noticed since Friday, blogging has been a little light these past few days. Last Thursday night, and without any warning, Satchmo developed some severe health problems that caught us unprepared, but he seems to be recovering nicely, so we’re hoping for the best.
Long story (and dog) short; late Thursday night Satchmo became very stiff, had trouble walking and seemed disoriented. Fearing the worst, possibly a stroke, and completely believing that I wouldn’t be bringing him home again, we were at the vet first thing Friday morning. Based upon the x-rays and neurological tests it appears that he is having some issues with his spine that are causing him severe pain, so he has been put on steroids to get the inflammation down as well as being heavily medicated to get the pain under control. He’s home, he’s looking and acting better, and aside from a lot of groaning and walks that previously took ten minutes and now last twenty five minutes, things are settling back in – if you don’t count the fact that I’m sleeping in increments of two hours tending to him as well as Beckham who is so shook up that his doggy IBS has flared up again.
Dogs. They’re more than just hairy pals.
Anyway, I apologize for the slowdown, hopefully everything will return to normal, or the new normal soon.
